@simsus Stimmt, es gibt keine Linux version. Ich finde zwar das Projekt gut, aber die Suche hat mich bisher nicht überzeugt. Leider auch nicht Metager, das ich früher lange benutzt habe.

Ofsetting carbon emissions is great and important work. And work that Ecosia is evidently very good at. But that doesn't mean, in my opinion, that you're free to emmit however much you like, as long as you offset it.
Not just because of the many flaws in offsetting, but also because it's just wasteful.
It also doesn't account for the different types of energy use. For example: AI uses both a lot of energy and water. Altough Ecosia might easily offset the emmissions caused by the energy use of their AI, it can not so easily offset it's water use.
And all of this is on top of the ethical dillemas that arise from both the training data used, aswell as the answers given by the chatbot.
Die Suchmaschine #Ecosia will jetzt Google-Suchergebnisse liefern und dafür Google-Cookies nutzen und offenbar meine IP auch an Google weitergeben. Weiß das jemand einzuordnen?
@FabianLaasch Ich würde sagen zu 80% hat Ecosia mir meine Frage zufriedenstellend beantworten können. Nur bei ein paar wenigen Fragen musste ich auf Google zurück greifen.
Auf jeden Fall gut genug dass ich Ecosia weiterhin als Hauptsuchmaschine behalte.
i use #ecosia or #duckduckgo for internet search and avoid using the word "google" to imply im searching stuff on the internet. just proves how google really monopolized the web even as a verb 🙂

Made a post about #images searching engines, since I like #Ecosia so much because it displays lot of images, but wondered if there were another option that could be better than Ecosia. Someone mentioned #Yandex. I tried and found out that's the best one I used lately!
