Het zou natuurlijk geweldig zijn als meer organisaties hun eigen instances gaan oprichten en hun afhankelijkheid van de grote tech platformen verminderen 🙂
This is a really great summary of different Mastodon Apps from @NatureMC. I have been using MetaText for ages and I like it’s 1990s limited feel; a definite step up from the official Mastodon App’s 1980 feel. Just discovered the Ice Cubes app and it is like being back in the 2020s! Worth reading and exploring and seeing which one works for you. Each to their own!

Who or what is this not for?
#Owncast is not for video conferencing or any use case where multiple people are wanting to see video of each other. It’s also not a good choice if you have tight real-time requirements as HLS video has inherent delays.
#BBB is a good choice and is #4opens yes we do have to do manual posting of #AP not a big issue. Maybe we can ask #FOSShost Agen?

What is the best #activitypub for #Python these days? I know there's a federation package https://pypi.org/project/federation/ but I'm not sure how comprehensive the support is for ActivityPub (it says it's "beta" and there is very little documentation). Is it the case that each ActivityPub project just reinvents the same wheels?
@Stark9837@Python no reason why a backend could not be written in Python. Mastodon runs on Ruby, for example, and Pixelfed on PHP, neither of which are "fast" languages.
