Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time ends tonight. Enjoy your extra hour in prayer! 🤣

Can't wait for daylight saving to be over. We're getting up at 7.45am this week so we don’t wake in darkness, but that throws the rest of the day's schedule out (normally we get up at 7am). Four days to go!

The ancient Romans had an alternative to daylight savings time.

BBC News reports: "Twice a year, around a third of the world's countries perform a hotly-debated ritual: meddling with time to create longer summer evenings and brighter winter mornings."

🎉 New blog post 🎉

Why isn't the UK switched over to DST yet?

Digging into why my mental model of "it switches over 2 weeks after the USA" is wrong...

Me: I have a new idea about Daylight Saving Time and time zones...
Them: Okay
Me: That will make literally everyone unhappy...
Them: Oh no
Me: No DST, but we break the whole globe into 10 minute time zones instead of hour long ones
Them: ...
Me: ...
Them: Why are you the way that you are?

You'd think after being forced to suffer through Daylight Saving Time for over 40 years nowI'd have saved enough Daylight to get like a bonus day or something.

But no...

"That's not how it works" they tell me.

On Sunday, America lost an hour as Daylight Saving time began.

Did America leave the hour in its jeans pockets? Maybe America should try retracing its steps.

Do a shot every time you think "is that the time? How did it get so late?!" today.

Why is it that when the clocks go back I barely notice the extra hour in bed, but when they go forward I'm jetlagged for weeks?

My timeline is full of people talking about as if it’s happening today and not on March 31st. 😏

Extra day in February.
Spring ahead.
Oscars starting an hour earlier. What is this? Are we in a time war or something?

The age old question: change the clock in the car or just leave it for the next time shift.

I hate twice yearly clock changes in the USA 😠 I envy folks in Hawaii & Arizona!

That said, a few years ago my husband and I decided to keep our sleep/wake times the same time year round, e.g., sleep at about 10 PM during standard time and 11 PM during DST.

Best decision we ever made!

Highly recommended if you can figure out a schedule that works for you! 😁 I'm disabled, he's retired, so we aren't constrained by work hours and meetings.

The joy of 😅. The Citizen E650 synced with the atomic clock tower during the night so its time was correct in the morning. The Casio only required to turn on DST so it was painless. Except for the Apple Watch obviously, everything else needed to be adjusted manually though.

Just remember we had a chance to end daylight savings time.

I hate this time change.

It took a while, but I finally finished changing all my clocks. Doing my watch took the longest. It's hard for me to write that small.
