Can't wait for daylight saving to be over. We're getting up at 7.45am this week so we don’t wake in darkness, but that throws the rest of the day's schedule out (normally we get up at 7am). Four days to go!
The ancient Romans had an alternative to daylight savings time.
BBC News reports: "Twice a year, around a third of the world's countries perform a hotly-debated ritual: meddling with time to create longer summer evenings and brighter winter mornings."
Me: I have a new idea about Daylight Saving Time and time zones...
Them: Okay
Me: That will make literally everyone unhappy...
Them: Oh no
Me: No DST, but we break the whole globe into 10 minute time zones instead of hour long ones
Them: ...
Me: ...
Them: Why are you the way that you are?
You'd think after being forced to suffer through Daylight Saving Time for over 40 years nowI'd have saved enough Daylight to get like a bonus day or something.
I hate twice yearly clock changes in the USA 😠 I envy folks in Hawaii & Arizona!
That said, a few years ago my husband and I decided to keep our sleep/wake times the same time year round, e.g., sleep at about 10 PM during standard time and 11 PM during DST.
Best decision we ever made!
Highly recommended if you can figure out a schedule that works for you! 😁 I'm disabled, he's retired, so we aren't constrained by work hours and meetings.
The joy of #DaylightSavingTime 😅. The Citizen E650 synced with the atomic clock tower during the night so its time was correct in the morning. The Casio only required to turn on DST so it was painless. Except for the Apple Watch obviously, everything else needed to be adjusted manually though. #watches#watchesofmastodon
