Fellow #iPad musicians will probably be interested to hear that #Izotope just released a #free AUv3 version of their popular #distortion plugin #Trash. I did mention it was free, right?
This is good. A 10-minute from scratch tutorial on how to make a beat based music track in GarageBand.
If you have an Apple device you have GarageBand and all the sounds and instruments in this available to you for free! Video by Point Blank Music School.
My brother asked me to mix and master a song he’s created. Little does he know I have no interest in actually doing so. Instead, I’m going to keep sending him updated mixes with VHS warble or album warps or dust pops. Another will have Sega Genesis beeps and boops in the background. Another will have random orchestral hits from Owner of a Lonely Heart. I’ll just keep telling him the next one will be real, I promise.
Is there any way to actually manually sync a ringtone from a #Mac to an #iphone with #VoiceOver? I'm trying to do it through #Finder, but the process seems to require dragging and dropping, with literally no keyboard equivalent! Of course, VoiceOver is just not dropping where I want it to. Is my only option to use #GarageBand on the #iOSDevice itself?
“Four-on-the-floor” is the most common #kick#drum pattern. You can see where the name comes from by looking at the beat sequencer below. With this pattern, the kick drum maintains a steady “heartbeat” for the song and is especially popular in dance music.
Inspired by the "Neon Metropolis" Live Loops chiptune pack for #Garageband, I did a live looping session with a bunch of fun DJ-type effects, and then cleaned it all up in #LogicPro.
Never got around to finishing my theme for Flippy Cup Tic-Tac-Toe, but it did spur some other noodling on #GarageBand. Just getting some ideas into a sketch pad, more or less. We will see if any of them turn into anything “real”.
Ok, so I actually started on a Flippy Cup Tic-Tac-Toe #theme in #GarageBand. I only have my iPhone so it won’t be amazing, but I’ll clean it up soon and post it for posterity.
It's where I taught myself how to use #GarageBand to make my first tunes, and almost all my music and videos were made on it until I migrated all my data over to my more powerful #MacBook Pro in December last year. 🫡💻
I can say without reservation that #AbletonNote is one of the more compelling and exciting #iOS music-making apps I have ever used. Never could get into #Garageband, #Thumbjam was OK but could never work out how to sequence with it, but this has surpassed #KorgiKaossilator which I absolutely loved, and I thought that nothing would ever pass that for me. This has finally done it, and with the most recent update to the Appstore version, you can perhaps see why I love this thing.
Version 1.0.10, 2d ago, This Ableton Note update brings some exciting new features: Added support for MIDI input. You can now use external MIDI devices (wired and Bluetooth) with Note. Simply select the MIDI device using the new MIDI Input menu in Note’s App Settings. Then choose a track in Note and start playing. Note can also accept MIDI input from iOS apps that output MIDI.
