I'm not participating in #Genuary2024 but I did publish a #GenerativeArt piece for #fxhash 2.0 in December last year that also uses flocking: "Etched Murmurations".
This is basically the same code as my flocking algorithms, but looks cooler. 12,000 particles "flock" to be near their loop neighbors while avoiding other collisions.
Genuary Prompt 19 Flocking
just tried to implement the 3 forces I found on Wikipedia.
I keep the camera at the center of mass. They actually take up speed quite a bit ..
"Flocking' is the theme for #genuary19 . I'd never implemented a flocking algorithm before and so I spent more time on the technical side and less on the aesthetic than I'd like. I do like my little fish-like squirmers though.

For #genuary18 (Bauhaus), I focused on the work of Joseph Albers, who taught at the Bauhaus and was married to Anni Albers (see #genuary11). A lot of his most famous work is based on color, but I found his shape-focused monochromes the most interesting.
Making patterns like this is so personally satisfying and calming, my wife has said I've missed my calling as a wallpaper designer. Suffice to say I felt firmly in my wheelhouse making this recursive pattern for #genuary17 (Inspired by Islamic Art).
