“Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that.” | Karis Nemik (5 BBY)
Vader's ventilation's hissing. I cannot concentrate on the melody.
Yep, it's permanently growling. Just like an ancient steam engine.
Okay, we will try without him. Vader, have a break.
Faaaaap... That's not fair. My encounter suit needs mending. Faaaaap! The vents are leaky.
So have it repaired then.
Impossible! Faaaaap... The blueprints with the replacement part index were on Scarif and someone - I don't mention who - just had to wipe out the whole base Faaaaap...
I find your lack of spare parts disturbing, he he!
Finally figured out what specifically the infamously absurd NOOOOO from Vader at the end of the Sith movie reminds me of - it's been bugging me since it first came out. It's got the same enunciation twist at the start of the o sound as the fake (?) Lorne Michaels voice saying "come back with my show" at the start of Robert Smigel's TV Funhouse bits. My overly developed powers of free association strike again #maythe4th
⏰ONE HOUR⏰ until #SymSat celebrates #MayThe4th with a symphonic playlist of music from #StarWars composed and conducted by none other than John Williams (link & info⤴️)
My hot take on one of my biggest #bookish pet peeves - YA should be labeled 'Teen', not 'Young Adult'. It's extremely confusing, it's the reason why YA ends up mixed in with NA smut in stores, by definition it's unclear; Young adult means late teens to early-mid 20s, and by that definition non-readers assume 'young ADULT' means someone of age. There really needs to be a clear differentiation between NA and YA.
They just came today & don’t even have OSes yet, but I have already named these two “Chopper” and “Mixer” while it’s still May the 4th. They are for digital signage at a local restaurant, where Boil already serves.
They join Appo, Cody, Echo, Fives, Fox, Hardcase, Hevy, Hunter, Jesse, Omega, Rex, Tech, and Wolffe in my “regiment” of computers that I manage, all named after clones from Clone Wars.
And this is apparently my 5,000th post on Mastodon!
