I can't help it.

Every time I see the phrase "You have died of dysentery" I am required to make a post that says:

"You could not actually die of dysentery in the original version of Oregon Trail. I should know... I rewrote the original BASIC game in JavaScript to run in a web browser to re-create the original game experience (as experienced by those of us who were playing it before the Apple II version came out)."
