This is the Roundhouse. It was built in 1969. I always thought it was kind of ugly, but it tried to be different and I can respect that. I used to visit various friends here, and I always wanted to jump off the balconies, so I finally wrote a fight scene set here in Old Time Religion.
The cats milled about the cafe, looking their best and placing their paws up against the window as people walked by, inviting them in for some cuteness and coffee.
A grey cat sat up high in a hammock, surveying her little kingdom.
"Not a single human yet," she grunted, "Purrhaps it's time to change locations."
The cats gathered in a circle, weaving a spell with practiced motions, shifting the shop closer to more cat-lovers.

I'm currently writing the first book in a very new vampire series (with a twist), set in modern times.
I'm aiming for a bit noir, so possibly 1930s or so, in the US.
I'd probably call it Urban Fantasy. Low on steam, high on adventure, probably slow burn romance subplot. I'm using the Romance series formula, by picking new MCs for every book and giving them a HEA.
The tea had spilled before it started steeping, the toast had jumped off my plate before I could add jam and the milk smelled rather off despite being brand new. At that point I began to feel my morning was being actively sabotaged rather than being a collection of clumsiness on my part.
I checked my luck reserves and found an IOU. I braced, hoping for some balance soon.
The morning after, I and many others awoke to wonderful tidings.

The holidays are stressful. Treat yourself to a book with a happy ending. Sam and Ulysses meet in September, fight evil together all autumn, and face off against a god in late December, so this is the perfect time of year to read it. Plus, you'll be ready for the sequel in January.
I don't talk about this much because I suck at promoting myself, but for those of you who weren't aware, I published some books. Three of them are a fantasy trilogy still available via Carina Press, under the pen name of Angela Highland. The other two are books 1 and 2 of an urban fantasy series, self-published under my actual name, Angela Korra'ti.
And since I continue to be unemployed AF right now, if I could make anything at all off of sales to new readers, that'd sure be super helpful right now.
