#CitizenScience opportunity: photos of unusual, brightly colored sunsets in the wake of major volcanic eruptions in the recent past can be used to extract color ratios that indicate #aerosol loading of the #stratosphere. In turn, that can help researchers constrain the ash "yield" of eruptions and improve atmospheric models.

If you're interested in contributing, DM me and I will put you in touch with the research team.

As I watch the ramping up of institutional in , it is yet another wave's reminder that, at least in Canada, is mostly a cargo cult science.

"The form is perfect. ... But it doesn't work. No airplanes land. So I call these things cargo cult science, because they follow all the apparent precepts and forms of scientific investigation, but they're missing something essential, because the planes don't land." - Richard Feynman https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cargo_cult_science

We deeply need an IPAC discipline that takes transmission mitigation very seriously. We need an airborne revolution to get to , to

I know a few counterpoints, like Dr Victor Leung from BC who is a true practice leader in the field, but they are rare and rather quiet due to discipline pressure to conform to approved

If you are in IPAC, please help drive your discipline from a handwashing, droplet & contacts precaution compliance mindset to one that truely embraces airborne risk mitigation, if not elimination. Don't just transfer the risk to the patient, and wash your hands of it.

It might be my life you save. It certainly could have been both my parents.

The science on aerosol transmission has been so clear for so long that one can only conclude that public health physicians DO NOT CARE. They don't care how many people die. They don't care what the data says. No amount of evidence will convince them. They are doing their jobs based on faith, not knowledge, and it's killing people. Since evidence won't change them, they must be removed and replaced. They demonstrably cannot be convinced or educated, or they would have been already
