I want to talk about in for a minute. I consider myself a gamer. I love finding I can play, and they're a great way to fill time stuck in bed or waiting at doctor appointments, but because of my multiple , I'm more limited than some on what I can play. I've been mostly sticking to text-based games or games where sound isn't critical, but I want to try some , and after I explain why I haven't, I'm hoping other people can give me some suggestions.
Some of you might know that I'm both totally blind and . Because of my , I can get easily overstimulated if a game has a lot of sound coming at me all at once. My sense of direction and where I am in space is also not very good, so I might get lost in games with complex maps. I don't mind that as long as there's no timer or anything like that. I also can't keep a mental map in my head. If a sound is supposed to be coming from a certain direction, there are a lot of times that I can't tell where that sound is coming from, even with headphones on, so I might misinterpret that cue. Finally, high-pitched sounds also worsen my chronic .
There are quite a few text-based games and others where sound isn't critical, but I know there are several great audiogames out there, too, and I'm just wondering which ones might be playable for me. As long as there aren't a bunch of sounds coming at me at once, too many high-pitched sounds, or a lot of directional sound cues, I think I could play it. Does anyone know of any games I might be missing out on?

So yesterday I mentioned that I was going to be starting my own YouTube channel. Today I published my first video. It’s probably not my best, but I will get better at things as time goes on. An introduction to who I am, and why I created this channel

If any of you play the game known as SBYW, last year on this date a peak of 58 players was reached. Let's try and get beyond that because just why not?

We're now live, going to play anxiety inducing Crazy Party games--don't worry, they should only do it to me lol--and some Shift Backtick games, and do some parties on Crazy Party if anyone wants. For now, enjoy a few minutes of music.

So a few minutes ago, I set up my WordPress blog, to post here. Every time I make a blog post over there. I am just starting it back up again, after a little bit of a hiatus. My site has to do with audio games and accessible technology for the blind. Feel free to follow me on WordPress if you want or you can just keep track of the post here. .

I've just begun creating my own original, complete remake/rewrite of the audio game Screaming Strike. I'm primarily doing that to experiment with new technologies and venture outside of my comfort zone of libraries (I mean, for a game, we're using WXPython for windowing and keyboard input!). The project is entirely open source, and anyone is welcome to contribute (We're just getting started, but the code is piling up). The goal is to improve it even more than the original game for venting your rage (with hrtf, effects, and various other things so every punch feels 10x more sattisfying!). Come code with me! https://github.com/meatbag93/punch
Ps: I'm just a hobbyist programmer trying to make something enjoyable, so don't expect much :)

Jumped the gun on that one, Dave. In , I made it to position 6 on the time scoreboard, and position 6 on the points scoreboard, my total time was 51 seconds! I scored 18047 points, jumped 1 pit, ducked 1 stalactite, and collected 9 coins! I ended my adventure at the bottom of a pit! https://2mb.co/mr

As yall have probably noticed, the freeware version of A Hero's Call currently has a couple of bugs, in a nostalgic throwback to the game's original release.
Just watch that original thread for updates, as Ian Reed is working on them and has already released a new version fixing the slow walking and NVDA SAPI crash issues. Remember, auto updating is gone, so you'll need to manually update from now on.

Improvements include: No waiting for the game to start or needing to log in. Audio errors that kept some people from running the game may now be fixed! Bonus kickstarter backer content now available for everyone, and all language translations now included in the download.

@Mayana@dragonscave.space avatar

Are you fond of #AudioDramas and would enjoy it if someone mixed one with elements of a #CYOA (choose your own adventure)? Would you like to play a #VideoGame, except it's really an #AudioGame, possible to play entirely by ear? Want something that's also #accessible to #blind people? Are you on #Android, #iOS, #Mac or #Windows?
Well then, go play The Klaxo Radio Hour! It's #free, short enough you can complete a playthrough in one sitting, and hecking fun! It's got some interesting mixing of older and more modern elements, professional voice acting, and a great story.

And even if the above description doesn't sound tempting, do go give it a try anyway, especially if your name is @zein! Trust me; it's so good, it just might steal your soul!
