Very busy days. I went to #PaxEast on Thu and Fri. Despite not liking crowds, lines, meeting new people, or competitive gaming, I had fun. Played a bunch of new games with a couple of friends, hung out with @adrienne, and bought just 2 games. One was a used copy of The 7th Continent, so not bad. The other, however, was a 20lb monster of a game at an "end of show" price. Divinity Original Sin The Boardgame is exactly something I didn't need! #boardgames#bgg@boardgames
Bei Schmidt Spiele ist ein neues Spiel von mir erschienen. Und ich freue mich echt riesig, dass dieses ein Teil der Bibi Blocksberg Welt geworden ist.

Yesterday my wife broke open Horrified for the first time. I just got it for a deal from a local board game friend and was interested to try it out! Very much scratches the same itch as Pandemic and we very much got our asses handed to us by Dracula lol
Both Board Game Stats #BGStats and the BoardGameGeek app #BGG are now compatible* with Apple Vision Pro. Here's a short video of them running side by side in the simulator. #iOSDev#visionOS
Not sure it's practical, and I won't be testing it out on a real device anytime soon, but it's fun to see.

Wenn ich das richtig sehe, bekommt die App Schreibzugriff auf meine Daten bei #BGG ? Da hab ich ja mal so gar keinen Bock drauf. Einige Bewertungen im App-Store erzählen davon, dass Daten in BGG verloren gehen, worauf ich so gar keinen Bock habe. Spiele und Spielrunden eintragen kann ich eh locker über die BGG App.
Private Unternehmen in 🇩🇪 sind nicht zu #Barrierefreiheit verpflichtet. Das verstößt gegen die UN-BRK und ist zentrale Ursache für #Diskriminierung von Menschen mit Behinderungen. Das Versprechen im Koalitionsvertrag, #BGG und #AGG zu überarbeiten, muss endlich umgesetzt werden!
Well, even though I'm a bit worn out (due to #corona), I've taken advantage of the past few days to engage (together with my son who is also sick) with some of the latest board games. Here are a few short reviews:
Today's library board game reservation envy post, Oodi edition
First up, Obsession. Or should I say Pride & Prejudice the board game edition? Looks very nice on #BGG. I might have to try to reserve this one myself and wrap it up as a christmas present to play with my spouse and teen.
Next Rappakalja. I have a strong prejudice against this Finnish word/bluffing/party game. And the BGG reviews are not so hot. So, no envy here.

I think this is the last day of the #BGG Store cleance sale. Lots of great promos and stuff at 50% off. I got The Gallerist scoring expansion, Posthuman Saga Outcast, Space Cadets Away Missions promos, 2 Newton Master cards, and a set of BGG dice. I tossed in a couple more small BGG Bit Bowls too.
Working on the #PnP version of #Imhotep#BoardGames in Spanish that I plan to print soonish. Lessons learned: stop paying attention to detail and obsessing with design, adjust measures first of all, obsess with design when sizing is right. This project exists thanks to the #bgg geek person that uploaded the "handmade" market cards in Spanish and to #gimp because gimp is the best creativity enabler that ever crossed my life <3
Another play for Moa designed by #MartinWallace. This time it took half the time to play. Once again I came second.
Next up was Istanbul. A game I have no recollection of playing before. But I have. Cheers to #BGG for having a better memory that I have.
Last game for the night was Savannah Park. It's a light tile movement/placement #boardgame that is simple but challenging. And I don't just mean finding the specific tiles on the your board.

The Board Game Geek website #BGG. It makes such a difference to be able to watch a play through of a game you are learning to play or wondering about trying/buying.
So, my eldest had some leftover money to spend on #boardgames (long story, don't ask), and we went to pick them a few days ago. After spending the weekend playing around with them, I think I'm ready for a #review thread
An interesting aspect of the game is the aspect ratio (pun intended) of the board, a roll-up strip of a soft synthetic material. I'm curious to see how well it will endure frequent use compared to the classic foldable cardboard that often ends up splitting into separate squares.
From to the pictures on #BGG it looks like our edition is cheaper than the original, with simpler dragons and cardboard instead of wooden tokens for the resources.
