Ok something changed with the production on the new #Blink182 album. It sounds less claustrophobic, kinda like they dialed back the drums and cooled the whole thing off.

It’s classic blink, so if that’s the kind of thing you’re into, then you’ll like this. The mix sounds really compressed though, which is really distracting.

California and Nine were just more mature albums, this sounds like the same edgelord music they were making 30 years ago. Tom never grew out of his channer mindset.
After hearing the new singles, I feel like I can call it about the #Blink182 album. It's just going to be another Angels and Airwaves album. And that is a tragedy. Because Angels and Airwaves is built on Tom DeLonge getting off on his own voice. #mattskiba blink is better.
I have such mixed feelings about the #Blink182 releases this week. On the one hand, it is very cool to see the guys reconnecting after all this time and it seems like they are having fun on the new album. The songs are clearly emotional and heartfelt but at the same time, the marketing is weirdly gross toward Matt Skiba, the guy who stepped up when Tom left the last time. Had Matt not come forward, Blink would not exist today and all of the marketing just denigrates his time and contributions.
