Those waters brought fine-grained sand and mud known for preserving fossilized life in comparable environments on Earth. The Martian crater's lake grew as wide as 35 km in diameter and as deep as 30 m.
What is not to love about the clear turquoise water surrounding the island of Aruba! It's hard to tell that this beach was quite crowded in April. To my right it was full of people lounging in chairs under umbrellas while others were swimming and snorkeling.

To my surprise, the island of Aruba is extremely arid, rainfall is minimal and cacti are native plants. (Tropical plants have been brought to the island such as the non-native palm trees.) Pathways have been placed to better explore the natural rock formations and boulders. Location is the Casibari Rock Formation area. Visited April 2023
Casibari sits at the heart of Aruba and is a popular tourist attraction. And, yes, the cacti are native plants to the island which is arid receiving very little rain fall annually.
Looking closely at the #granite#boulders, you can see they are covered in #lichen and they make the surface rather spongy or flaky depending on moisture conditions. They remind me a bit of Jackson Pollock paintings.
