I see folks post my work, as if it were it's own, on Pinterest all the time. I don't go looking for it, it just shows up in my feed there.

Sometimes, they are even trying to sell it!

If you like my coloring pages, buy them from me directly instead.

Here's one of my most popular coloring pages, created with code and inspired by chemistry!

Cannot seem to mount linux host share on Windows guest. suggests that I need on the guest to have spice-webdav installed. Have not been able to figure that out.

In the meantime, the web suggests that I need Virtual Machine Manager installed, but when I do that, it says I need libvirtd, and every set of instructions for has not worked. apt cannot find it. 😡 Even instructions from Sept 2023 for Ubuntu 22.04 don’t work.

For those following along, I never could get the version of gnome to recover. I would remove it, remove everything I could find if its remnants including the virtual drives, and it still somehow knew it wasn’t supposed to be working.

Finally installed from apt, and it is now working. Have no idea how to truly clean up what happened. Not sure, but I think the underlying problem is in Boxes inability to recover once the cloning process fails.

Once you realize, that cartoons aren't real and they mean nothing, only then can you be rid of your #nostolgia

whether it's #videogames #cereal #boxes #cartoons #cgi #movies #animations #comics

We need to drop these as people because they don't make us richer, they destract as and #entertainment is what is keeping us poor.

#introductions

Hello friends, new instance, quick intro:

I'm Dan (he/they), I live in Hamilton Ontario Canada aka #HamOnt and this is my woodworking account on the Fedi.

Mostly doing veneer marquetry lately, and sometimes I also do things like #spoon carving, sculpture, wooden #boxes, small furniture, housewares, or random things like acoustic wall treatments.

Looking forward to making more wood & art friends here. Here's a small sampling of my work; loads more at bellowingtimber.com.

A wooden box, made from walnut, with a marquetry panel in the lid. The panel shows multicoloured stripes in a geometric patern that seems to reflect off the edges of the visible panel.
A marquetry panel intended for wall hanging. The image is a western yellow wagtail bird, sitting on a stylized branch, against a background of pear veneer dyed black.
An abstract wooden sculpture, made from black walnut wood, with a round maple base.

Everyone always tells me to use "Boxes" instead of Virtualbox.

Well, Boxes crashes the moment I point it to the ISO. And it does so without leaving any log of what issue it encountered too, so I cannot even diagnose what the problem is.

Linux_Is_Best,
@Linux_Is_Best@mastodon.social avatar

@szymonzielonka I am curious about how many people experience this. How is using Endeavor OS (Arch based). But if Boxes can crash from Debian to SUSE Tumbleweed, it doesn't sound very staple to me. Worse that doesn't offer any clues and logs either.

Thankfully VirtualBox is an option

Looks like Mastodon Dev is planning to take hashtags at the end of a post and put them in a different spot for cleaner reading & a less spammy look.

@paul Not a fan. Mastodon feeds will look far more cluttered. Hashtags don't need separate callouts; they're fine as-is at the bottom of a toot.

"the day before Trump orchestrates this scheme to keep 35 boxes shielded from Corcoran’s search, Nauta spent half an hour in the storage room retrieving a single box."

Nice catch there! If I recall correctly, Trump had written "notes" on box lids, so if Nauta needed to go in and select files, that might be helpful, yeah? So what classified files do we think he was shoving into that box ... ?

I designed these boxes to be hollow so that you could leave a side off and fill it with stuff.

The sides are also thin enough to be "damaged" by a hobby knife or clippers.
But they are sturdy enough for gaming purposes.

And the moulded texture makes them easy to paint with a base coat, wash and dry-brush... or even those fancy contrast paint things.

Examples of what you can do with these boxes: broken corner with items spilling out, Top off with goods neatly packed, whole and undamaged, or walking on some tentacles.
All 4 styles of box.

Fun tip:
(almost) Everything on .py (https://www.festi.info/boxes.py/) an be cut from cardboard. And even the humblest cheap diode can cut cardboard packaging.

I've used this to good effect with some of the 'hinged box' designs for presents and gifts.

But this is more practical, a sorting tray that took an hour from thinking about it to fully assembled. So tight it doesn't need glue, and fully once it gets manky or superseded.
