Cannot seem to mount linux host share on Windows guest. #Boxes suggests that I need on the guest to have spice-webdav installed. Have not been able to figure that out.
In the meantime, the web suggests that I need Virtual Machine Manager installed, but when I do that, it says I need libvirtd, and every set of instructions for #libvirt has not worked. apt cannot find it. 😡 Even instructions from Sept 2023 for Ubuntu 22.04 don’t work.
For those following along, I never could get the #Flatpak version of gnome #Boxes to recover. I would remove it, remove everything I could find if its remnants including the virtual drives, and it still somehow knew it wasn’t supposed to be working.
Finally installed from apt, and it is now working. Have no idea how to truly clean up what happened. Not sure, but I think the underlying problem is in Boxes inability to recover once the cloning process fails.
Have no idea how to specify Resources (memory and storage) for this #Boxes software. When I click on Create button, it does nothing. Must have to fill this out somehow. Plus and minus buttons do nothing.
Found out that depending on your font size or screen magnification, you cannot see or edit those fields, even trying to use keyboard was impossible. Way to go #Gnome#Boxes!
Yes, of course #GNOME#Boxes, when I click "Edit Configuration" on my VM, dealing with raw #XML directly in a text editor is exactly what I want to do, why would anyone be surprised by that?
Why, when using Boxes, all the RAM usage is categorized under "System"?
Talking about Gnome's Boxes for VMs creation.
That's not very pleasent.. #Gnome#Boxes#Linux
I'm Dan (he/they), I live in Hamilton Ontario Canada aka #HamOnt and this is my woodworking account on the Fedi.
Mostly doing veneer marquetry lately, and sometimes I also do things like #spoon carving, sculpture, wooden #boxes, small furniture, housewares, or random things like acoustic wall treatments.
Looking forward to making more wood & art friends here. Here's a small sampling of my work; loads more at bellowingtimber.com.
Everyone always tells me to use "Boxes" instead of Virtualbox.
Well, Boxes crashes the moment I point it to the ISO. And it does so without leaving any log of what issue it encountered too, so I cannot even diagnose what the problem is.
@szymonzielonka I am curious about how many people experience this. How is using Endeavor OS (Arch based). But if Boxes can crash from Debian to SUSE Tumbleweed, it doesn't sound very staple to me. Worse that doesn't offer any clues and logs either.
"the day before Trump orchestrates this scheme to keep 35 boxes shielded from Corcoran’s search, Nauta spent half an hour in the storage room retrieving a single box."
Nice catch there! If I recall correctly, Trump had written "notes" on box lids, so if Nauta needed to go in and select files, that might be helpful, yeah? So what classified files do we think he was shoving into that box ... ?
Does anybody else peel off the #shipping labels and destroy them before putting the shipping #boxes in #recycling, or am I being unnecessarily #paranoid? :blobcat:
I've used this to good effect with some of the 'hinged box' designs for presents and gifts.
But this is more practical, a sorting tray that took an hour from thinking about it to fully assembled. So tight it doesn't need glue, and fully #recyclable once it gets manky or superseded.
