really delighted that @obsidianmd has announced #jsonCanvas. i deal with a lot of diagrams and tragically they're often in blob formats. this will help me on my diagrams-as-code crusade at work!
@dcbuchan@obsidianmd strong agree here, it hasn't quite found a place for me either. ironically i look at diagrams all the time and use an application that embeds #drawio/ #diagrams, it's more of a strategic avoidance to evangelize the idea more at work 😂

My current thoughts on this are that if you already have some PlantUML or Mermaid then AI can help you make complex changes, learn these diagramming-as-code syntaxes, and fix syntax errors. But remember the AI has knowledge and not wisdom. You cannot trust its output.. [1/2]

Can you recommend some good software that you use to make publication grade diagrams and illustrations?
preferably open software avaliable on linux
I know that inkscape is good but I wonder if there is something better.
I'd like to give a shout-out to draw.io; each time I need to doodle some diagrams I end up using that, and (at least for me!) it's exactly the right mix of features - i.e. enough features to do what I want, but not too much (which means that the interface remains fairly light and easy to use).
I wanted to give them money but I didn't see a straightforward way to do that 😅
