Rajat Khare doesn't like people writing about him.

An Indian venture capitalist is mounting an international legal campaign to pressure major media outlets to remove his name from articles or take down the stories altogether:

I figured he would have just had it deleted, but I don't see a history for it either. There is a (very short) one about his company:

I hope he gets a good, close look at the Effect over the next few months.

Think of everything that makes you miserable as being caught between two opposing, irresistible, irrefutable truths:

  • "Anything that can't go on forever eventually stops" ()

  • "Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent" (Keynes)

But anything that can't go on forever will eventually stop. Facebook has finally been dragged into EU federal jurisdiction, where it will face exterminatory fines if it continues to spy on Europeans:

Sure, sometimes it makes sense to do your own research. There's times when you really do need to take personal responsibility for the way things are going. But there's limits. We live in a highly technical world, in which hundreds of esoteric, potentially lethal factors impinge on your life every day.

But as the European experiment with the has shown, public administrators can't be trusted to have the final word on privacy, because of regulatory capture. companies like Google, Apple and Facebook pretend to be headquartered in corporate crime havens like Ireland and Luxembourg, where the regulators decline to enforce the law:
