Mala xiang guo (spicy stir-fry hot pot), a dish from the Tujia minority in China that has become popular among Chinese communities worldwide. Since customers can choose what ingredients go into the pot, Malaysian chains often have “localized” ingredients such as yong tau foo that are not typically found in the original version. The chain I usually go to also have a halal chain for Muslim customers (Mala Mala).

I am a baking fiend lately. I made ciabatta last weekend and loved it so I’m trying again this week. But every time I lift the lid on the dough, it smells like roasted peppers, since I apparently didn’t clean it as well as I thought. 😶

BUT THIS COULD BE A BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE, we don’t know. I will find out when the new batch bakes tomorrow.

Anyhow, it has been a tasty week of sandwiches.

Should have trimmed the green beans better, I added potato water back and shouldn't have, but it tastes good so who cares. I already put some of the potatoes in a tub so it looks unbalanced

Coconut curry cauliflower soup!

This was really good, I could eat just the bread and curry!! I made a huge amount. I added some extra ground beef (10 oz) and a whole large white onion instead of the weak baby onion they sent.

Today's cooking mistake: Had to toss my first HF meal, smashed bean tacos, and some cauliflower/broccoli. Tried to freeze the veggies, didn't work. The meal I just took too long to get to, it's 1 week old now
