It's not long until the 1st of June, so why not pick up the guitar and learn some catchy tunes for the summer? I've just published version 7.0 of Fretboard, which brings more accurate chord name prediction, note names on hover for the neck top toggles, and a couple of fixes for various small issues encountered since last release. It should be on Flathub very soon!
@renatoram@danslerush This is unlikely to happen in the near future, but it might at some point. It would require a fully dynamic chord pattern generator that takes finger placements and ergonomics into account, and probably a database with overrides for the most common chords as well. It's hard to make number-crunching algorithms for something as fuzzy, human and imperfect as finger placements on string instruments. I'm not working on it currently, but this sounds like a fun future project 😄

“Each night, Sharon put Ozzy in the same cities we were booked to play”: Inside the bad blood following Ozzy Osbourne’s sacking from Black Sabbath
Tony Iommi and Tony Martin have recalled the tension between Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne following his sacking from the band in 1979.
I had a bit of time to record two new tracks to my ongoing instrumental/ambient project “music for snailports”. Trying to just have a mini idea of how I want something to sound and then doing some spontaneous recording. These ones came out a bit #GuitarSoli or like kind of reminds me of being by the ocean.
Here’s the bandcamp for listening, the new ones are “C” and “D”:
@arts definitely. I usually end up doing the same kind of stuff haha. But sometimes, yeah there's some cool ambient or electronica stuff I can throw in. I'm usually bass and singing etc but I've done a little guitar, I had childhood friends that were SO good at it and I learned a lot from them but I still do mostly rhythm on that front, too. Recently got a bass again and I play pretty much only that again now haha. Like, I hear the whole song with everything in my head, but I think in basslines 😂
After about 6 months, I finished up a guitar I built for my 16yr old kid. We used maple (which is heavy, but sturdy). It's a Telecaster body style, and he picked out the electronics. We're both pretty happy with how it turned out!
Had an idea to take an old song I wrote and meld it with an new one I am working on. It worked! Took the guitar part and made it the bass line. Once it got the tempo correct it was all good. #MakingMusic#HomeRecording#LogicPro#Guitar#Bass
@rasterweb that’s a great question. The guitar/bass part is a little difficult so I need to practice a bit. Some guitar stuff and vocals to write. I’ve got time carved to do it. A couple weeks maybe?Planning on putting it up somewhere once finished.
Good band practice today. We're doing a bunch of covers and reviving one song we wrote together in the 90s. All starting to sound pretty good but guess the one song and #guitar solo I made a pig's ear of. Yes, our own, and my own.
You know you've written a pretty song if #jazz guitarist Pat Metheny plays a cover of it. Here on acoustic #guitar is Pat's rendition of Nora Jones' "Don't Know Why"
Another song to put in your chill out playlist. https://youtu.be/PibCsTpUV9E?feature=shared&t=647
So I could get a Muffuletta 6-in-1 #Muff#fuzz#pedal for $200 r/t $250 while they're on sale.
Triangle, Pi, Ram's Head, Russian, Ciivil War. I read that the mids vary. #GAS#guitar#effectPedal#GearSquad
@eyesquash
Muffs are a thing you either love or you don’t, an absolutely iconic sound! The different variants are voiced differently in the mids as you say, but they are all muffs! Don’t expect there to be more than 1 sweet spot on any of the knobs in any if the settings! It’s not a subtle circuit.
