Imagine a circular wheel rolling, without skidding, on a flat, horizontal surface. The #locus of any given point on its #circumference is called a #cycloid. It is a #periodic #curve with #period over the #circle's circumference and has #cusps whenever the point is in contact with the surface (the two sides of the curve are tangentially vertical at that point).

Interestingly, it is also the curve that solves the problem, which means that starting at a cusp on the inverted curve (maximum height), a frictionless ball will roll under uniform gravity in minimum time from the start to any other point on the curve, even beating the straight line path.

I pulled these early, with about 70,000 miles on them as the car runs a little rough during idle. Note the discoloration on plug 1, rt in both images. Electrodes look good on all of them. Note darkness on seat not seen on others. Also note discoloration on ceramic insulator on 1 and 2, not seen on other plugs. Comments welcome.

New plug on left. Used number one plug on right. Note discoloration of blackened threads, washer, and neck. The ceramic also has orange discoloration.

Proof that is actually classical lurks in Clauser: you simply treat the angle zero as an origin, rather than do what Clauser does illegitimately (though Nobel winningly, which will result in a shock one day) and treat angles as absolute with respect to the Cosmos. Then a factor becomes cos(0)=1 and finally you have the correct correlation coefficient. And computer programs can easily be written to serve as experimental examples.

What counterargument is there?

Troy Grady put together a series of videos called "Cracking The Code" which was about trying to understand how various guitar players achieve high speed playing. It's an absolutely fascinating analysis that he has developed over the years. He just posted this video about wrist motion and I find it absolutely fascinating. If you like this, trust me that there's a big rabbit hole waiting for you. https://youtu.be/NWuGkXhj0T8?si=r-4gr1-V4D1jNW_q

For the -- lock, mechanically, based on the amount of force you put on them. I know of (multiple!) people who have issues with this, because they are violently grabbing the seatbelt to put it on quickly (thus locking the seatbelt). Pulling it harder just locks it more. The trick is to SLOWLY and SMOOTHLY pull the seatbelt out and then secure yourself. No, there's nothing wrong with the seatbelt... it's their seatbelt technique.

ai6yr,

For those who are interested, this looks like a decent video explaining the behind a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRaU1HMJyCo

My reminder of why I work in computing is complete. Youngest daughters Jeep is back on the road.

Diagnosis of failed water pump was correct.

Time to walk the boys before work now.

Water pump bearings had failed
New pump and belt in place
Job done and engine back together and idling

Because a quick internet search only brought up pages that either want to sell me something or instruct me on car engines:

Which (biodegradable) oil do I need to use for an electric motor? The oil in my 100W fan was garbage and is now semi-solid goo.

(Same fan with the dead capacitor, these things (picture, alt text) are definitely made to fail and are sold by multiple companies. DO NOT BUY!)
