Okay, you probably know by now that when someone is my favourite, there's no escaping my portraits. So have another Maedhros - this time as a baby with his mum (and yep, I'm on a mission to revise old works!)

I hope you like it, and sorry for my one-track mind 🙈

Did you know that the length of rapidly changed in the late 16th c.?

For a very long time, the average length of breastfeeding was somewhere between 2-3 years.

It has been known that weaning age decreased - but it was thought to be a practice.

In 2018, bone analyses revealed that it was the late 16th c. that brought this however & in a very short time.

Wet nursing too became less common at that time.

The reasons for both are unknown.

As the Women's Budget Group point out: of in a issue.

Men have on average £92,762 more in total wealth than women, a gap of 35%.

Among 25 to 34, the average gender wealth gap is negligible. Within the ages of 35 to 44, it is 28%. After age 45, the average gender wealth gap starts growing significantly. By age 64, the average gender wealth gap is 42%.

A clear implication is to confirm that it is that marks the wealth divergence

I had spent my life assimilating, performing a kind of whiteface; having a child would certainly unmask my racial shame."

Why is mum-shaming still a thing in 2023? Is it because society still won’t let women fully express themselves?
‘Bad mother’ behaviour seems to include anything that even hints at maternal ambivalence or a desire for more freedom
It’s hard enough being a working mother of young children, especially one in the process of getting divorced, without being smeared in the press as a bad mum.

When I became a mother, I lost my body – and realized it never belonged to me

'The lack of autonomy I felt as a mother reiterated everything society taught me to believe about myself since I was a girl'

I feel that all men ought to read this. And maybe very young women. Older women know about it all too well.
