I managed to pick up my #SLR camera for the first time in ages, and whilst I had to consider aperture, it was a needed reminder of just how much better it is for taking #photos. #photography#pansy#yellow
A bit of fun news today, I ordered a new camera last night. It's an old model, a Nikon D7500, but it is brand new, and I feel like I got a pretty good deal on it.
My first DSLR was a D50. I now carry two D3100 SLRs with me when I'm out shooting. This new camera will be the first one I've owned that wasn't near the bottom of Nikon's more economical line of SLRs.
I will probably never own the latest, greatest thing, so I get excited when I can splurge a little.
USSR photography was really intense. These are actual official accessories for Zenit SLR cameras called Fotosnaiper / Photosniper. They have an actual gun body and trigger to press the shutter button.
A really interesting little device that could reduce #ewaste...that maybe came a few years too late to actually do so. Still, "turn your #SLR into a #DSLR" is a pretty compelling value prop.
A civil war is brewing in the climate and cryosphere community. There is a group of scientists, engineers (and funders) that are really starting to push forward on geoengineering approaches to mitigate the impacts of climate change. 1/
One of the more advanced ideas is that we can eject particles (aerosols) into the stratosphere and these will reflect solar radiation. This can reduce the temperature of the planet because we get less solar radiation at the surface.
There is also a growing push to develop infrastructure that can block warm water from the bottom of ice shelves and glaciers so that we reduce bottom melt with the idea that this might reduce #SLR rise. 2/
