I heard on NPR this morning that the Biden admin is heavily committed to carbon capture and storage (not a surprise), which includes pipelines to transport the captured carbon to its storage point, possibly in the middle of the USA's national forests and grasslands. Somehow I didn't know about the pipelines. What a fucking travesty. Why a travesty? Because it takes materials and emits pollution to build pipelines, and the pipelines themselves are guaranteed to spill carbon as well, just like the methane pipelines are emitting methane right now.
"Net zero" is a lie; the only real path to harmonious life on earth is decarbonization and electrification.
The province has increased the capacity of the #Alberta#Indigenous Opportunities Corporation, taking the amount available for loan guarantees for #investment in projects in the #naturalresources industry and other sectors to $3 billion.
The bump signals to companies planning “monumental transactions” that Alberta is “committed” to support such projects long term.
The province wants #Canada to set up a similar program for Trans Mountain equity.
