Many years ago, I was hanging out with my friend Jill, and we noticed there was a series of yard signs along Hennepin Avenue in #Minneapolis which were all put there by some dumb sell-your-house.com or whatever. (It should be noted that Hennepin Ave is a major street through Uptown Minneapolis.)
It was about 1am. We were bored. We got the idea to repurpose the signs. So we gathered them all up… maybe a dozen or so in total. Then we went to score some Sharpies, and we got to work changing them into a series of signs, somewhat like the old Burma Shave signs.
They read:
I PUT
MY
HAND
UPON
YOUR
HIP
WHEN
I DIP
YOU DIP
WE DIP
… which, I mean, whatever, amusing. But those signs stayed up for months. 🤣🤣🤣
Apropos of the BBC joining Mastodon, the best prank my English coworker ever pulled on adult students going to England was to insist British TV license applications were a skills-based testing schema.
He suggested studying the remote control buttons, television cable set-up, and how to change channels in a mock setting to avoid retaking the tests. Academies were available for support, etc...
