So I don’t go on LinkedIn a lot. But I happened to be on there recently and saw a thing in my inbox. My friend’s son, who’d done my website, had sent a request for a recommendation. I wrote something immediately. (I get things done!) Got this back.
Displacement activity: A fancy word for unwitting #procrastination, when you are in the middle of writing something terrific, you're in the flow, and all your senses are over stimulated (#actuallyautistic) and you simply must go do something else. Sweeping the floor, maybe? Writing a mastodon post? Check!
Why am I hanging around here? #Procrastination. I have to write a French promotional text for myself with trous de mites in meinem Gehirn.
The worst thing is that the topic only exists in English, but some visitors don't like foreign languages. 🙄 How do I tell them ... about my workshop for #VisibleMending! Je travaille sur la définition succincte en français. :clippy:
Back from the hospital and on the way to recovery. It'll be a couple of weeks until I'm back to full strength, and I intend to take full advantage of being a poor, sick little puppy (lazy bastard) to rest up as much as possible. Fortunately, writing doesn't take much physical effort. Thanks again for all your well-wishing and kind words.
Woke up early to be ready to make a call in European time zones. Failed to pick up the phone so far. It’s now 16:26 there and I can officially stay in the pool thinking about how I should have done it.
Today I had a ton of chores to do, so I dug my rocks out and took pictures of some of them. Now I guess I will do the chores, but when I sit down I will play with the photos and post the results in this thread. Will probably add to it every now and again for a while.
This piece makes the hippie part of my soul happy, what with looking like yin and yang on one side. About an inch and a half in diameter, smoky quartz.
I'm spending too much time organising my #dotfiles. This isn't even making config changes, this is one meta level of #procrastination higher; I'm just trying to organise them.
🧵 1/ A thread about the crazy project of planning an #exhibition stand in only 3 days!
Procrastinators have one strength: they really come into their own under time pressure! I stood in for an exhibitor at the Fibreart Festival at extremely short notice. I didn't have any #displays or material for the stand. I have to set it up on Thursday, and I still have umpteen appointments beforehand. What the hell can I do?
