Okay! New map! The attachment is the first representation of dataset 1.1, using a lot of dotted green lines (as per the Seattle map legend) to show non-bike-signed routes commonly used by people biking.

(It's not full resolution because Mastodon shrinks it.)

It also includes a couple of actual bike-supporting routes I missed in dataset 1.0, and a lot more dirt/loose gravel trails, particularly in unincorporated King County and on the northern Eastside. But there's bits of adds everywhere.

The dotted green is experimental. Feedback is definitely requested.

Full resolution is at Github, select the map labelled "EXPERIMENTAL":

Like Redmond-Woodinville road. There's lots of heat on it until suddenly there really isn't.

But there are on two side roads.

That's where the bike lanes stop and everybody gets RIGHT the fuck off. People going to Woodinville divert out of their way over to Sammamish River and people going to Tolt Pipeline divert towards 112th via 156th, despite both of those being longer routes.

And I don't know the reason. I can make some pretty good guesses, but they're guesses.

But I don't need to; the heat map tells me what's up.

Has anyone here used the Avondale Road barely-marked "bike lanes" from around the Power Line Trail up to NE 132nd? Because on Google Maps they lack things like "this is a bike lane" markers except at the very, very end. Right now I've marked them as dual sharerows because of how bad they look to me. But are they secretly okay in person?

I didn’t realize it was National Train Day, but it was a great day for a Cascade Bicycle Club group ride to visit every light rail station on Sound Transit’s 2 Line now that it’s in operation! We were even able to use a couple of recently opened bike connections, too

I must need therapy.

Here, have the quickly-made MEGAMAP 1, a combination of the new Greater Northshore Connector Bike Map, most of the City of Seattle 2023 Bike Map, and the April 2024 2 Line Connector Eastside Bike Map.

It is NOT SMALL. Printed at native 300dpi, it's right about 26" square, or 660mm square.

it be LORGE

Seeing the to light rail is making me dream of having connected to Bellevue and

it's such a shame that this city of 100k is shunted off from the metro area like we don't matter

2/3 I checked out the new Overlake Village pedestrian bridge (it’s finally open!) that connects 520 Trail & light rail station
Visually, it’s really nice, mural takes you into a lush green forest
Aurally, it’s loud, as you hear all of the freeway noise thru gaps in mural slats

@thurrott Why doesn't just buy this company? I know you wouldn't like that Paul since it would limit access to Brad, but seriously, they are doing a way better job than the photocopiers.

Roaring Laughter.

So I ran into a friend of mine that owns the BESTEST Masquerade and Costume shop in Greater Seattle.

https://amasquerade.com/

She asks me: Have you seen my store?
(New store is two blocks away)

Yeah? It's wonderful!

No! My old store!

You mean the missing city block? I may have noticed it, yes.

Shameless plug: If you happen to be in or even ... Halloween is coming soon and you owe yourself the joy that is experiencing this costume shop and the staff.
