Work in progress of a Boromir piece I’m doing. Hoping to finish it by Friday.

There is something profoundly satisfying about drawing weird-ass over-the-top fantasy rpg art in a game store.

Finally done. Art for the cover of the compilation book I was thinking of making for my old webcomic fantasy Lovarian Adventures from 2001-2006.

Low res version of this webcomic is surprisingly still available online if you’re curious. https://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Lovarian_Adventures/

(Damaya) Inspiration
Artist is TheDurrrrian - deviantart

A couple things I like about this pic - aside from it being Wonder Woman (part of a series the artist did on medieval fantasy versions of DC Superheoes):

  1. Her armor. No Cleavage. No Midriff. It's almost as if it was designed to protect instead of being ogled. To my mind, a Matriarchy doesn't waste their time waiting to be ogled. Instead, they kick your butt. That's how one stays in power. I really believe we need to agitate for a higher degree of verisimilitude in female fantasy armor.
  2. I'm intrigued that she has a polearm. Having done medieval reenactment combat for 20 years, polearms don't need to be heavy, unwieldy things. They provide reach, and the force-multiplier one gets from have a blade on a 6-8ft haft means you don't need a heavy blade to ruin an enemy's day. With training, they are also fast!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

A marilith. I thought it would be interesting to see how the back muscles on a six armed humanoid would work. The client just wanted a front view... oh well.

"And it also touches on something that I care about. One of the reasons I quit making maps professionally was that I felt like I was selling a weird luxury drug that everyone wanted but that nobody really needed."

That is... actually something I was thinking the last few days, as I downloaded in a haze...

@LeviKornelsen and here is the rough sketch for the cover of "Saints". In the final the female character is going to wear a musketteer- like unoform and I'd probably have her hat flying away as she turns.

This is a find-your-people post for TTRPG folk.

Please respond by saying what sorts of TTRPG things you're pretty likely to either talk about or respond to if you see them.

This can be a list of games (D&D! Tribe 8! Fate!) or categories (the weirdest of indie stuff! NSR! Anything PBtA!), topics (Worldbuilding! Publishing!), stuff you're making, meta-commentary (The State Of The Industry), and so on.

Then maybe share, and if the replies are building up, check them for new people.

THE COURT OF THE TYRANT AT TOUR TORIEL is finally released, out in the wild, and most importantly off my desk!

This is the fourth installment of the Ascent to Prime campaign I've been developing which teaches new players how to play (and run) Cortex Prime games.

It's really cool, if I do say so myself.
