A couple things I like about this pic - aside from it being Wonder Woman (part of a series the artist did on medieval fantasy versions of DC Superheoes):
Her armor. No Cleavage. No Midriff. It's almost as if it was designed to protect instead of being ogled. To my mind, a Matriarchy doesn't waste their time waiting to be ogled. Instead, they kick your butt. That's how one stays in power. I really believe we need to agitate for a higher degree of verisimilitude in female fantasy armor.
I'm intrigued that she has a polearm. Having done medieval reenactment combat for 20 years, polearms don't need to be heavy, unwieldy things. They provide reach, and the force-multiplier one gets from have a blade on a 6-8ft haft means you don't need a heavy blade to ruin an enemy's day. With training, they are also fast!
Haven't drawn Anton in a while, so here's my shackleborn nephilim fetchling ready to strike! He's an undercover Lotus Guard in Edgewatch, the city guard of Absalom.
A marilith. I thought it would be interesting to see how the back muscles on a six armed humanoid would work. The client just wanted a front view... oh well.
Hey, if you're an artist, don't solicit random people on discord to get commissions unless they explicitly express interest in some post saying they are looking for an artist.
An emoji react to something you post in the art channel is not and invitation to solicit
"I envy your hair shading technique" etc, is not an invitation to solicit
Joining the same server as you, is not invitation to solicit
I understand you have rent doe soon, I understand you might be trying to make some extra cash for the holidays.
But unless a person says they're looking for someone to commission, you are more likely than not, knocking on someone that is in the exact same shitty financial situation.
Got in a missing the Planescape group mood today so had to draw more tieflings — turned out to be a goth noir one. Marrow has pink skin and corroded rust hair.
