Fyi, if you’re on an iPhone and need to do some basic image compositing, the app is very good! I had to combine two separate screenshots of a table header and a table row and it was a cinch to do.

When you first import the images into Freeform there is a grid and it adds rounded corners and a drop shadow to images, but you can uncheck all those options.

Second arm finished...I'm calling it 'heart on my sleeve' as I've managed to incorporate an anatomical heart and a swirly one. There's a brain at the top...

First sleeve completed apart from a bit of surface work. A lot of Georgia O'Keeffe-type spirals. Big shout out to all the independent dyers and spinners this yarn came from. When it's finished, I'll post links to them.

One yarn I can't get away with is cotton. I had to really force myself to finish this evil eye granny square blanket. It was from Hobbii and 70% off! Was making 2 freeform cushions with leftovers but have hidden them under the bed. I like a bit of give in yarns. Also a super chunky premium acrylic which crocheted up like a board. Never again.

- my favourite yarns generally are Superwash Merino/nylon blends by independent dyers. This lot are all 4-ply (fingering) weight. The intense red is called 'Furnace' by @mothyandthesquid. Also love anything tactile and soft!

Progress report on new project. Top of the back and both arms shown, in double knit hand-dyed merino, also chunky recycled plastic bottles and a bit of metallic/Angora. Inspiration... Georgia O'Keeffe, body parts in a grey/red palette. The rest of the yarn is a lighter 4-ply. I needed a heavier yarn for everything to hang from. Much more surface work to do on the joined scrumbles.

I almost always do a Hanukkah set, and it got away from me this year. Tough year that won't take its foot off of the bulldozer's accelerator, alas. But I needs me Hanukkah set, so, belatedly, here she be... (Screw off, Grammarly.)

This Firebird was one of the first projects I did. I based it loosely on a cross between a phoenix and a microraptor, but basically just let my imagination go where it wanted to. Freeform crochet is still my favourite method and it's what I use, mixed with to make custom for people from drawings and photos. @crochet

This is a find-your-people post for TTRPG folk.

Please respond by saying what sorts of TTRPG things you're pretty likely to either talk about or respond to if you see them.

This can be a list of games (D&D! Tribe 8! Fate!) or categories (the weirdest of indie stuff! NSR! Anything PBtA!), topics (Worldbuilding! Publishing!), stuff you're making, meta-commentary (The State Of The Industry), and so on.

Then maybe share, and if the replies are building up, check them for new people.

The best part of , season 1, is the range of as . as is also very good.

What did was next level, imo.

From geeky, awkward, innocent, and desperate-to-be-liked, to dark, brooding presence, her performance elevated this twisted .

And the ending is just right.

It starts slow and grating (immature teen drama) but the final few episodes pay off.

It's a good show, overall, just don't expect a lot.

Anyone on or or using the Freeform app on a routine basis?

It feels like this should be a great collaborative whiteboarding app.

But I don't know anyone using this, so is this just my bubble not talking about it as much, or is the app lacking in some regard?

Alexbbrown,
@Alexbbrown@hachyderm.io avatar

@ctietze I use app most weeks to sketch illustrations of process flow or software architecture.

I think it's delightfully minimal and quite usable on iPhone with fingers, which is an achievement.

I have also used it as an interviewer for collaboration with the candidate, and it worked well.

The ready alternatives I had; sketch tools built into WebEx or Coderpad are really not suited for diagramming.

I also use and like Miro.

🎂🎈HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US 🎁🥳

WFMU’s first-ever broadcast aired 65 (‼️) years ago today, on April 24 1958. No one knows anything about it, and a decade would pass before the first stirrings of freeform programming graced our airwaves.

Take a look at this brief history of freeform and WFMU through the late ‘90s:
https://wfmu.org/LCD/21/timeline.html

Upsala College shut down nearly 30 years ago but we’re still going strong thanks to the support from all our listeners over the years. Have a piece of cake today, you deserve it! 🍰
