@Binder Terry Prattchett is absolutely amazing, but when I started reading the Discworld novels again, I noticed that the early ones are nowhere near as good as the later ones.
If you find this one disappointing, skip ahead a bit. Even Terry himself later said to disregard the first few books.
Iโm starting to think that Sales loves acronyms not to tighten up their communications but to obfuscate their ignorance of what theyโre talking about.
@Binder I worked for a company who started having to send a dedicated engineer with their sales team to avoid having any more contacts fully negotiated for parts that can't physically exist.
@Binder I call the cemetery crows Iโve befriended โmy familiarsโ.
I donโt know if they followed me home or if they just told their friends that I have the good peanuts, four of them were outside my bedroom window this morning after I started feeding the Blue Jays. I was delighted.
@smitten@maggiemaybe@Binder Give it some time. All you need is a crow couple to become fond of you. There is no divorce in their world. We had a couple live for a dozen years in our trees. Now, several generations of their kids come around for snacks.
@Binder I like how if you refinance with the same company they demand a million things to prove you can pay a loan that is less principal and less interest than the one you have been paying for 10 years.
@PacificNic@ipitcher@Binder they seem to be a climate change denier as well, so preemptive blocks work for me. When someone says that having extreme cold negates that we've also had extreme heat, I don't think they understand modern science very well.
UX is also one of the things that has kept me firmly in Windows, it's consistent and often can be navigated intuitively! Linux's UX has been improving, it's not to the point I would recommend Linux over Windows for someone asking about OS recommendations.
