This very handsome drake Mallard was waddling on the snowy ground near the river in Guelph Ontario Canada on a lovely winter day. The iridescent bottle green white collar dabbler was eating snow while looking for the corn that some children had thrown to feed the ducks and geese.

Map Turtles are a freshwater reptile with light markings that resemble the contour lines of a map. These two were enjoying each others company, with one giving us a little hello wave, while sunning on a log at the Moon River Ontario Canada and are a species of concern.

I am fascinated by rock, the patterns, striations, color and texture. This natural colorful rock abstract was found decorating a rock face on the Key River, Georgian Bay Ontario Canada. The striped pattern of black, white, grey, orange and brown was quite eye catching even from a distance.

There was a crispness in the still, misty air, the trees were shedding their leaves and the Canada Geese were resting quietly on the calm water of the two ponds at York Lands Park in Guelph Ontario Canada. You could feel the promise of rain in the air and the silence was deafening.

The sunbeams filtering through the fog and highlighting the deciduous trees and bushes in autumn in Guelph Ontario Canada was quite beautiful. The light beams drew me closer to the edge of the forest where the beauty of the filtering light and shadows held me until the fog started to lift.

I was very excited to see this beautiful lime green Luna Moth, Actias Luna, Nearctic saturniid, at the cottage at Key River Ontario Canada. It is a rare sight as this gorgeous, nocturnal and very large adult moth lives for only seven days! It mates, reproduces and dies in a week. It has no mouth and doesn't eat.

The Angel's Trumpet or Brugmansia is a tropical, exotic shrub that I put outside in the spring and bring inside in the winter. The large, pendulous shaped flowers are most fragrant in the evening when they attract the pollinating moths. When the shrub is in full bloom the display is outstanding.

The Sturgeon Chutes on the French/Wanapitei River in Ontario Canada is an untamed wilderness of outstanding beauty. Before hitting the chutes, the Pine laden rugged shores line the calm rocky river. Incredible scenery and terrific hiking make this area an explorer's paradise.

Sea Lions are quite interesting marine mammals with their long flippers, short, thick hair, long whiskers, torpedo shaped bodies and their small ear flaps. They are social, playful and intelligent. I was thrilled to capture this close up of the diving California Sea Lion.
