The first time I came into contact with Opera was with version 5, if I remember correctly. 🤔
It's been a while. I can still remember the advertising banner in the browser. Those were the days... 😅

Nevertheless, I would personally let the browser or the operating system decide on memory consumption. In my opinion, unused memory is wasted memory.
With other memory-intensive applications, such as video games, you don't limit the memory either and nobody would think of doing this. I find it strange that people want to do this so much with browsers.

I agree with you. Even in the good old days of Opera, users were given a lot of control over their browser and Vivaldi follows this philosophy consistently.
That's what users love about Vivaldi.

I'm working on the @loops Camera

The challenge is to optimize the video as much as possible (on device) before upload to reduce load on the backend.

A 15s video (with audio) is just under 800kb at 480p30 using h265, not bad 😎

@jon @Vivaldi I've been using since TP1 and I've never looked back. It is by far the best on and .

I'm so thankful that you offer such a great tool that makes my life so much easier - especially at work. I sort project types into and project related things into tab stacks.

I also don't want to miss the mouse gestures anymore. The built-in client and help me stay perfectly organized. :tony_wee: :vivaldi_red:

Does anyone have a reliable market share data for browsers?

StatCounter is a terrible site.

Would be interested in numbers for desktop, mobile and combined.

Just a note that @Vivaldi will not show up in the stats as we have to hide our identity to be able to use certain Google and Microsoft services.

If you have access to some major site data, please share.

@jon @Vivaldi It is not technically possible to determine reliable figures. It is possible to determine the browsers used per website, but even that is not always reliable. I think that the user numbers are published by the browser manufacturers on the basis of telemetry data.

Flipboard doesn't seem to be very privacy-friendly. 11 trackers are too many, in my humble opinion. Profiling users based on their usage behavior and then selling that data to advertising companies is not an acceptable business model.
