It breaks my heart that there’s parts of my country that’s no longer safe for me to visit. Governments should do everything they can to protect their citizens but in Florida they’re activity trying to make it unsafe for anyone who’s not a straight white cisgender man. Anger and sorrow don’t bring to describe how I feel.

    @ylove being queer was the number one reason I left the Catholic Church but I never really believed in god in the first place. If Santa and the Easter bunny aren’t real it wasn’t that much of a leap to come to the conclusion that god is made up too. It’s been an issue for my dad. He’s okay with me being queer now but is having a difficult time with me being an atheist.

    @danirabbit Marginalized groups have to have a phd level of knowledge just to fight for our existence while cis het white people can just make shit up to attack us. It’s one of the uglier sides of privilege.

    @Curator For me it’s Isao Takahata. He was a pacifist and environmentalist who’s work was always detailed and thought provoking mixed with nostalgia and sadness. I gravitated to his work as a teenager without knowing why but found a resonance and understanding as I’ve gotten older, especially for Only Yesterday, probably Ghibli’s most underrated film.

    @dancinyogi My sister has done this some fosters this didn’t know how sit on command. It drives me up the wall. I’ve had to work with a few of them. I’m no trainer but I do my best to leave better behaved than when they arrived.

    @zombierustpunk In high school I was required to see a school counselor on a regular basis for the offense of wearing a trench coat. They couldn’t prove there was anything wrong with me or my friends but there was always someone watching the spot we hung out at.

    @dancinyogi Aside from paying of my parents' mortgages and my sister’s student loans I would travel on a regular basis, visit family I never have time to see (I have a large spread out family on both sides), and get much more involved with animal rescue group I volunteer with.
