There is something to be said about living in the slow lane. Take me for example, I get up early in the morning let the dogs out, then if I feel like it, I take a nap, if not I come here, into my office and write something in this blog, then take a nap. I know, it's a rough life. Every now and again, there is something pressing that requires doing. My next major engagement is Valentines Day in the week coming. I'm going to have to go to the store before Wednesday to get a card.

I understand it's the thought that matters, but after 39 years, my wife and I are over the $6, 7, 8 dollar card thing.

Instead, we wish each other for the day and say one or two things we are grateful for about the other person.

I definitely understand the reasons people do express feeling for another---if they haven't been married as long as we have!

I think this bit of the time line escapes most young women. I remember my mom having to put my dad on the phone with the bank so she could get an order of checks.

As an agnostic, I believe that something exists. Just not a god or gods. My take on it is that our souls/spirit evolves through different phases of growth, almost like school. Those "gods" people pray to are just farther along that path of the soul's evolution. No heaven or hell, just places along that path depending on what we deserve when we exit one phase and go into another.

I thought about this while in my muse state and wondered, with the current state of humanity and the world, our current phase of evolution must be some kind of remedial class. ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm an athiest and I have thought, for as long as I can remember (after it was "suggested" to my parents Sunday School wasn't for me---too many questions!) we are as CSN saying "stardust."

Whatever spark inside us that gives us life (one's soul?) came from the universe and will go back to the universe when I am done with it.

The in-between is filler we need to make the best of, with compassion, empathy and hard work. And dogs! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

This, to me is enormously comforting.

I have always said, that people like him never really face justice or even real, hard consequences for their actions. Sure money is one thing, but nothing about him will change, except his bank account.

In have a friend who rails against both parties...I can't post a GOP nonsense article that he doesn't come back wth something Carter or Obama did.

We go back and forth. He insists we need a lot of other parties, and that continuing to vote D and R will keep us trapped as we are. He leans quite libertarian, but when I press what it is a Libertarian candidate would do, he's got nothing. When I press further, he shuts up.

This election is about character, for me. And Trump ain't the man.

This tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) was around yesterday. These birds rarely sit still long enough for a photo. You almost have to know where they will be before they get there. In this case I got lucky I was taking photos of dozens of small birds and one happened to be this bird.

Given his speech last night about the special counsel report he was pretty pissed off. But in the next breath he seemed to sound BVERY old.

My career was in healthcare and mostly with older folks, and while that doesn't make me an expert, I am familiar with old people.

It's a huge concern. I like the man, he is not without faults, but the reality is I don't feel enough people would support Harris if anything would happen. There is NO other choice, though. He has my full support.
