@Cassandra Absolutely not, refuse ticket closure. Even if it has to be kept on hold, the problem is not resolved until the problem is resolved.

@Cassandra Yep, and their metrics should eat that shit and their executives should take that blow to their ego until they decide to improve. Maybe that means 40 employees need to be fired over performance, or managed team underperformance, or failure to develop fixes in a timely manner. Or maybe nothing will happen because their top-down leadership is ass. But the customer and the company should agree that the problem is resolved, it shouldn't be a unilateral decision.

Slightly bugged dwelling on vs. , particularly with my experiences. I feel like a lot of non-medical resources lump ADHD symptoms and expereinces in with Autism ones, for good reason as a majority of Autis have ADHD, but now my impostor syndrome has gone "Oh I may be Autistic only" to "Oh I may be AuDHD" to "Oh I may be ADHD only" and it's really confusing!

TIL that zoning out is an ADHD thing - which feels good to learn about because I did it a freaking ton when I was a kid and it's reassuring for it to be "normal" for the neurotype and not entirely problematic. It's weirdly like a mental comfort thing for me (frequently did this after school) and maybe I'll embrace that more.

Finally got my ADHD meds!

Walked in the grocery store and instantly

✨ meltdown ✨

Zero cashiers. Only self-checkout. My hands are shaking a lot from the heat and struggled to bag my small amount of groceries. Kept dropping everything.

Going in grocery stores: zero stars, do not recommend 👎

Obviously, Linux won't do this to you. It has no reason to. Good reason to switch.

Hopefully there will be a way to disable in-OS.

Seriously looking into Linux for my PC because Microsoft and their overzealous approach to AI is making me nervous as heck.

I'm going to settle on Ubuntu as my familiarity with that Linux distro is high enough; I do need to check for any major changes with CLI commands, reworking of OS features, and the like before switching over. I don't want any surprises.

Over the next few days, I will back-up anything I need in the future digitally.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds There is always that initial uncomfort with switching platforms just because you're used to your workflow, but as long as what you need is there (and almost everything is) it's so worth it. Genuine technological freedom and actual control over your experience, and peace of mind.

Some incredible stuff from various fan communities out there these days. Mario Builder 64 is essentially a Mario Maker type game for Super Mario 64 that even allows you to download levels other people have made.

So many really talented folks out there, I hope it doesn't die an early cease-and-desist death from Big N.

The DSM-5 and the ICD 11 are not Bibles dictating what to do for everyday life, they are diagnostic manuals. Their purpose is to diagnose people with clinically identified disorders. They are not comprehensive and understanding of every facet about Autism. I find the best source of truth being other autistic people and their experiences, though I would avoid relying on any individual source too much as we're imperfect people, like anyone else, and as Autism is a spectrum.

Which terms do you prefer to use?

Do you use ‘have’ or ‘I am’ to describe your autism and ADHD?

Personally, I’m the first one and use ‘I am’ to describe both.

Just curious to see how common each one is. 🙂

@ashleyspencer I use "have" for ADHD just because ADHD doesn't have a good adjective-usable-as-a-noun form. I could use hyperactive but I'm not, I'm inattentive. Maybe "I'm attention-deficit" but this is wordy. 🤷

I got the strangest store message today. Someone emailed me straight up asking for the manufacturer name and catalog number of a chew necklace in my store. All that falls under the trade secrets and privileged information. Such a strange question.

Just said they were trying to buy the chew necklace and needed the manufacturer info for their procurement team, which is who purchases directly from manufacturers to sell in their own stores. Why on earth would I give a random stranger that info.

Me, feeling well rested and in a good mood: I don't know, it's hard for me to see myself being autistic. I don't feel like I've run into much difficulty lately, and my ADHD has been more noticeable. Maybe I'm not really autistic, and maybe I'm just an ADHDer? What do you think about all this, screening test?

Please be super careful using public wi-fi, even with a VPN. Zero day in existence for over 20 YEARS was announced impacting VPN use with regards to rogue or compromised DHCP servers on the LAN, which allows redirection of VPN traffic. Idk if this is ND specific even, but I had to remind myself that I can just walk normally when on my own. Apparently walking pace is a mask for me. 🤷🏽

I got the manufactured plushie.

It’s AWFUL. I hate it.

They ensured me the fabric would be very soft and it feels rough. Super unpleasant to touch.

It’s supposed to be a cat holding an infinity symbol but it doesn’t look like a cat in person.
