@bart I'd love to be part of this but I haven't worked directly with ActivityPub before (besides a few half-started backend plans). I'm sure I can learn though, if anyone else wants me to join them 🙃
@bart btw if you want to avoid Discord I can def help set up and manage a selfhosted Mattermost (or probably anything else you think suitable) since I've done that before. As long as it's just for this one community, not thousands of users or something (which would need more maintenance/optimisation/etc) 💬
Right now my "default" is to go to GitHub, and then maybe GitLab and Codeberg...but that leaves out all the other hosts out there. Once #ForgeFed happens we'll need it even more :fedi:
(By the way, I say "git" because that's where most code is, but if other kinds of repos are supported, even better! 🔍 )
@farooqkz my projects are always "is it even going to happen" so I haven't got to the stage of thinking which ones are better 😅 what you say makes sense though! And now that you mention it, the things I've worked with over a period of time (software or otherwise) have usually ended up being very satisfying 😇
@yogthos ...because LLMs are essentially a regurgitation of the media they're trained on 🤖
What I meant, though, was that all the AI I've seen seem to have this specific bias of being very vague and "it's complicated" when asked about anything relating to Palestine. Which perhaps tells us where the biases of the majority of media lie (or at least lay)? 🇵🇸
And it leaves the cursor wherever it ended up. So one gotcha to watch out for is, if your key combination needs to start (for example) at the beginning of a line, then make sure to put it back at the beginning of a line when you end it (ready for the next round of replay) ➰
There are also ways to name the macro and save it, etc., but I'm yet to get to that stage...
Sigh, website for one of the local indie radio stations is now behind "Deflect," a Cloudflare-like DDoS protection thing. Which means their show podcast feeds now serve HTML "Verifying if your connection is secure" pages (which require a cookie store and JavaScript to pass) instead of RSS.
