I saw your reply just after reading the scene in the Iliad where Phoenix tries to convince Achilles to rejoin the battle for Troy.
I believe this is an example of quantum entanglement. I'm going to take some quiet time to think hard upon it.
Good luck with your clematis, it's a hard to kill plant, reliable and rewarding every year. One of the few that can survive the 4 season extremes of eastern Missouri.
Is there a #Fediverse software that able to show #3D content? I talking about rendering STLs, with uploading previews together with #STL file. It can be done using raw #WebGL or Three.js as a way to render it.
The slow, silent ride will start at the Davis Bike Collective (1221 1/2 4th St ) this Wednesday 5/15 and will visit 4 different locations in Davis where people have been killed while riding their bikes
The route will be 7.5 miles and is expected to take ~1.5 hrs. We will have some flowers to distribute but feel free to bring your own offerings as well.
@meganL@cycling Can't believe I didn't know about this event. Doesn't look like #STL has one, but I'm reaching out to some local bike orgs to see if we can schedule one for next year. Hope y'all have a good ride!
Good morning everyone! It's Monday, and I'm not thrilled about it, but there's nothing I can do about it. We're expecting an eclipse later today in St Louis, an estimated 90% coverage. Full totality is south of us. Work is letting us go outside for most of it. Hopefully the world doesn't end or something. 😉
I hope you all have a good day! Enjoy the eclipse if you have the ability.
Good article on the non-cleanup of #radioactive contamination near the #StLouis airport. ("Good" in the sense of interesting and detailed, not the actual situation.)
Good morning everyone. It's a cloudy day here in St Louis. The forecast is calling for scattered severe thunderstorms with a high of 80°F.🌩 Maybe the hail dents I got a few weeks ago will get some siblings?🤦 The bees are busy getting a shift in before the rain starts, and I should probably start too.
I did some bloom strolling at the botanical gardens so you can do some bloom scrolling if you'd like. A very nice 76°F at outside in St Louis today. I'd like to chat more, but my lovely wife is preparing a hot pot, so I need to log off for a few.
Stop making Ryan write these "Florida Man" style stories, St. Louis!!
"St. Louis man who sought refuge in a dumpster after careening his truck into a school bus full of children six months ago has now been charged for all of that and more."
"Missouri lawmakers are also contemplating a bill that would make drag performances a felony. The state has failed to add sexual orientation and identity to laws that bar discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations, despite more than 20 years of attempts by sympathetic legislators. Abortion has been outlawed in Missouri since the state's 'trigger ban' went into effect in June of 2022."
#STL#trans#missouri also #journalism because this is how you do it - not one transphobic quote, and it's not an issue to be debated, it's the stories of people leaving, and the explanation of why those decisions are being forced by the state. Those are the two "sides".
A picture of a derelict barge on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River taken from the lookout in Cliff Cave Park on the Missouri side. More info in alt text. I snuck out alone with my camera and new lens for a little hike. 🙂
We went down to Tower Grove to check out a used bookstore and took a walk through the park. The store was a great hole in the wall with tons of old books. The pictures below are the griffins guarding the entrance to Tower Grove Park. It is a nice day in St Louis but a bit windy. The blue skies are a nice change though.
Hey I've been here for over a year but never did an #introduction. I'm Eph, I'm a birdsite refugee, and I'm a #pixelartist! I'm also a perpetually-tired dad of three kids (2 living, 1 dead), I'm a former #gamedev who burned out to land industry-adjacent, and I enjoys games but I'm not a Gamer.
Good morning Masto friends, Happy Hump Day! It's currently 26°F(-3°C) in St Louis, yesterday it was 86°F(30°C) and my sinuses are feeling it. It's great Missouri (mis-ery) weather and typical. I'm looking forward to seeing what shenanigans my two Gen Z employees get up to today. One slept 1.5 hrs in their car yesterday, and the other refused to talk to a mean salesperson. I didn't even know that was an option. Fun times ahead...
Chaos sorcerer terminator lords. been adding some more weapons including flamers, plasma guns, autocannons and different types of sword. Also the optional bird like familiars.
Good morning everyone, I hope the weekend is treating you well. So far I've washed 3 dogs and myself so I've accomplished something. I think we're heading to the St Louis Zoo today, should be fun. Dies anyone else have an adventure planned for the weekend?
