I know Slay the Spire is supposed to be a game that I'd love, but I've never been able to get into the art style. I'm not sure what about it exactly I don't like, but it's just missing the mark for me and so I haven't been pulled in to try it.

I know I'm being a snob here. I know this is a me problem.

Let me be clear, Wizards have previously been good in regard to not using AI and requiring their artists not to use it.

This is about their parent company, Hasbro, and it's CEO. WotC need to push back against this and the weight of artists can help.

So, a follow up on this. Wizards reached out to me today & we jumped on a call. They thanked me for being vocal about it, they agreed, & they reiterated their commitment as company to continue supporting human creativity & to not use AI. So that's good to hear.

@kyonshi No I don't think they'll immediately kick out the human artists in one fell swoop. It would be little by little. It might first effect where entry level artists would have got their foot in the door. But I won't stand for that. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. If they decide to use AI generated images they can expect to lose a good few of the talented artists that brought their worlds to life. And their products will suffer as a result.

Just wanted to give a shout-out of love to my instance at social.coop for simply introducing me to some great tools for collective organising, governance, and financial tools like Open Collective and Loomio.

I've already started looking into these tools for organising a collective locally and it's just brilliant to have the resources and examples of how to use them well.

Well, I've turned 38 today. It feels a little weird getting so close to 40. I'm not really getting the mid-life crisis feeling of getting old (at least not yet), but it does feel weird.

It's probably been more from covid, but getting older has made me think about my mortality a bit more. Making sure I'm spending my time on the things I care about. Getting outside, spending time with my family, trying to stay healthy, building my creative career into the kind of work I want to do.

While spam accounts are annoying. I want to just throw it out there that asking Admins to just defederate from instances outright isn't the right first call. Silence or limit them if needed.

There are plenty of tools for individuals to deal with these accounts and instances. Expecting admins to deal with everything is not the right call imo.

Make sure the instances are checked to see if there's an actual community there. If the whole instance is spam then defederate.

@ParadeGrotesque oh, I'm not against defederation if their instance is full of terrible stuff and goes against the code of conduct of my instance.

It's just that the first call I see thrown around for even a minor offenses in some cases is demanding "all good mods" to "DEFEDERATE!".

I'm just saying that's not the right process.

Much nicer notification and interaction UX. Notification consolidation per post, so you have 6 people like post X for instance. Also comments on a post show the OP etc. Just so much nicer all around.

Do any of the Mastodon Android apps do notification consolidation? Similar to what Twitter does I guess.

When I have a post getting engagement, it quickly clogs up my notification feed.

Also wouldn't be against that feature in the web client.
