My mom’s car (2019 Honda Fit) doesn’t have whatever timer that prevents the car from draining the battery if you leave any light in the car on whatsoever. And when you drain the battery, it resets the emissions computer.

Which means to pass your emissions test, you have to drive around in circles for several hours until all the sensors have done their tests, creating a bunch of unnecessary emissions.

The closest I can come in a sentence: The sheer suffering being inflicted on people who have little to no control over the actions of their leadership (or sometimes fellow citizens) has been and continues to be horrific.

If you ever visit Cambodia or Laos, which I have been lucky enough to do, you will learn a lot about why all of SE Asia is ecstatic about Kissinger's death.

There's a reasonably direct line from the illegal bombing of Cambodia to the Khmer Rouge's takeover, enabling their reign of terror that killed 1/4 of the Cambodian population and drove out or killed most folks who were educated.

There are still "bombies" from cluster munitions all over Laos, which kill or maim people on a regular basis.

Hey American student loan holders: I am not an accountant, but look into consolidating your loans before the end of the year.

Especially if you took the loans out at different times and have some non-overlapping payment history, you could wind up getting a lot of money forgiven by doing so.

Using the same example above, if the loan with 50 months of time in repayment included January 2017 in repayment status but the loan with 100 months did not, the resulting consolidation loan might be credited with 101 months of payments. This can occur where borrowers relied on different repayment, forbearance, or deferment options on different loans for the same period. We will start processing loans that are eligible for forgiveness later this year. If you have loans with different counts and one of those loans qualifies for forgiveness, you may benefit from consolidating in order to get all of your loans forgiven at the same time. If you do, you will receive forgiveness because the consolidation loan will be credited with the longest amount of time in repayment.
