“Het mes in het ambtenaren apparaat zetten” , zoals het nieuwe kabinet gaat doen, betekent meestal dat gewone mensen er onder gaan leiden, want ambtenaren in de uitvoering helpen burgers , leveren essentiele diensten, zorgen voor veiligheid etcetera. Alleen bezuinigen op “ beleidsambtenaren” zet geen zoden aan de dijk, dat zijn er relatief gezien weinig.

Er zou vanaf jaarwisseling 2025-26 in #Ede een lokaal vuurwerkverbod komen (meerderheidsbesluit van de gemeenteraad). Maar gisteren heeft het college van burgemeester en wethouders in al haar wijsheid vastgesteld dat het met zo'n verbod toch niets gaat worden. Het zou niet gehandhaafd kunnen worden. De raad moet hier formeel nog over beslissen, maar het college heeft in de media alvast de toon gezet.

Geweldig interesssante video over de uitvinder van de blauwe LED. Ik had nog nooit gehoord van Shuji Nakamura, die in 2014, samen met Isamu Akasaki en Hiroshi Amano de Nobelprijs voor Natuurkunde won "Voor de uitvinding van efficiënte blauwlichtdiodes die energiebesparende witte verlichting mogelijk maken." Wat een toewijding en volharding!

Heel veel mensen dus die alleen hier zitten, of vooral op BlueSky, of juist vooral nog op Twitter. Soms wat mixen. Mijn takeaway: Twitter jaagt ‘gewone’ mensen weg (I know, is geen goede term, maar whatever), maar die groep versplintert vervolgens. Precies wat de extremere figuren willen. Er is vast veel kritiek mogelijk op deze stelling, maar ik ben bang dat er echt een kern van waarheid in zit. Het voelt niet goed.
