Just finished 'Cruel Provocations' by @golgaloth and I wish it wasn't over - so much so that I stopped myself reading the last few chapters last night, just to draw the enjoyment out a little longer.
An intriguing tale that combines an ostensibly fantasy setting with proto-electric technology (lightning-punk?) its twists and turns take you to unexpected places, and does "the fey" with a unique approach that I loved.
A very impressive debut novel that cries out for a sequel!
Went to #Continuum16#c16Reboot and spent so much time around writers and ideas that I wrote an entire 6,000 word short story over the course of the weekend.
Worth it just for that.
Also, many lovely people and interesting presentations.
What is the best solution for those horrible tiny black beetles that always chew up my eggplant leaves? I normally don't use anything more potent than insecticidal soap but it barely has any effect on them. And although it's satisfying, I can't stay ahead of them by smashing them between my fingers.

How did you settle on your MC's appearance?
That's just what they look like in my head. I'll usually have a very strong, visual feel for the character. If I need to describe them more specifically, I'll probably find some sort of image online, but mostly it's a visual feel, a gesture, a sense of their appearance rather than anything too specific. I think the readers deserve to come up with their own ideas about who my characters are.
@federicomena Oof. Nope. That'll need replacing. I mean, you could use a really large patch, but you're probably going to lose your innertube if you don't replace the outer.
