I ended up using my shop vac to vacuum up 3ft of water from my window well this morning. Yes I need to fix the drainage and landscaping but the ‘merica in me is telling me to just buy a bigger shop vac.

@LALegault This schism reminds me a bit of the debate over having kids in cages, in the sense that it is hard to have a connection at a * basic human* level with anyone that justifies kids in cages or rationalizes a genocide that is happening in real time.

In other words we are seeing people for who they truly are as the masks are coming off

The local weather guy made a very good point about streaming services vs rabbit ears. He said that youtube live streaming or other platforms have a 2 minute delay vs 5 second delay via over the air.

That 2 minute delay could be deadly so always have a set of rabbit ears handy for those of us that still have Tvs

@CStamp @StillIRise1963 I saw the civil war movie last weekend, and it was a bit too realistic for me. Sometimes I think SCOTUS is playing with fire like it did with the Dred Scott decision.

Either the rules apply to everyone or they don’t. It really is that simple

Instead of addressing why the students are protesting, the government does what it always does. The beatings will stop when morale improves.

You can “live long enough to become the villain”. The people sending in the police are probably the same hippies that were protesting war in the 60s and 70s

@Adam_Cadmon1 A lot of people fall into the trap of abundance. Whether it be Spotify, Apple Music, video streaming.. most working people don’t have the time to sample everything.

They end up with playlists and listen to the same stuff which is not even a fraction of what’s out there.

I did the math and I would actually save money by not subscribing to a music service and buying CDs or downloadable mp3s

@jalcine @Adam_Cadmon1 Here is the real kicker.. and it’s something I only realized recently.

Physical disks are nothing more than physical keys to content. When they switched to digital keys, that enabled them to rent or restrict access at scale.

So in a sense the only time we could claim we owned video was back with VHS/Betamax
