I feel like people are so set against Google that they will not even agree that Google has good ideas sometimes.

Dealing with people frothing at the mouth because you dared defend something about AMP, for example, is tiring.

Just admit what it is: like every other big company, a mix of great and questionable.

Meanwhile I'm going to honor good ideas no matter the source.

Currently porting the TLS clientcert stuff from my old framework to my new site. Together with the (now proven to be time-stable) SHA3 password storage this marks the first time I'm building multi-factor authentication.

And all without annoying one time login tokens coming in through SMS or E-Mail.

I hate to say that I called it. In fact I really wish that I had been wrong, when I've been saying repeatedly that we were getting ready for the return of Section 28 in England. At least an updated version of it for transgender youth.

@ShredderLivesOn So looking at your timeline, I probably mostly interacted with folk that went through the education system before 2003... but it's staggering how little knowledge about sexual health exists in that population bracket.

To go back to that is a massive step backwards.

Friends. I don't get it.

I understand the idea of a loan: borrow money, pay it back over time plus a fee for the favor of having more money sooner.

I understand having a company and taking out a loan: borrow money to do something to help the company make more money and pay it off... but it's OK you made enough that it was a good idea.

But HOW can someone borrow money to BUY a company then say the cost of the loan should go on the companies books?

I don't get it. :(

@futurebird Well... it doesn't really make sense, no. But it's not really a straightforward trade. There's always another party involved, the one who owned the company before the buy. And they want money.

So they can agree to let the company bear the cost, then sell, and run off into the sunset with their piles of cash.

Meanwhile, the buyer can take the loan without the cost; the company already agreed to it prior to the change of ownership!

Like imagine an adventure game featuring a tween Putt Putt that's obsessed with Hot Topic and trying to start a YouTube channel.

@elfentroll Ich finde es ja immer wieder interessant, wie solche Behauptungen zustande kommen, daher habe ich die Urteile zu C-508/18, C-82/19 und C-509/18 mal angeguckt.

Dazu ist zunaechst zu sagen, dass die ersten beiden in einem Urteil zusammengefasst abgehandelt wurden; sie separat aufzulisten ist also auch eine Taktik um die Umstaende aufzubauschen.

Zum Zweiten sieht es so aus als ob C-508/18 und C-509/18 die gleichen Parteien betreffen, nur andere Aspekte des gleichen Falls.

@elfentroll Genau genommen wollte ein Staatsanwaltscheift in D ueber einen europaeischen Haftbefehl eine litauischen Staatsbuerger der in Irland ansaessig war, dort inhaftieren lassen um ihn in D vor Gericht zu bringen.

Der Eine Fall bezieht sich auf ein Toetungsdelikt, der andere auf Waffenbesitz. Es waere verwunderlich, wenn sich derart spezifische Umstaende auf andere Personen oder Faelle beziehen wuerden, vor allem, weil auch die Zeitpunkte uebereinstimmen.

Es bleibt also nur, dass wenn man nicht hetzerisch unterwegs ist, es sich um einen einzigen Fall handelt.

Und worum geht es dabei? Hat das EuGH festgestellt, dsas D kein Rechtsstaat ist?

Nein. Das stand auch nie zur Debatte.

@elfentroll Was das EuGH beschlossen hat ist, dass eine Staatsanwaltschaft in D ohne einen gerichtlichen Beschluss dazu keinen europaeischen Haftbefehl ausstellen darf.

Der Wortlaut ist komplizierter: die Staatsanwaltschaft kann in diesem speziellen Fall nicht einem zustaendigem Gericht gleichgestellt werden, auch wenn es auf nationaler Ebene durchaus befugt ist, Haftbefehle auszustellen.

Warum?

Weil die Regelungen zum europaeischen Haftbefehl vorsehen, dass solch eine Gleichstellung...

@elfentroll ... bedingt, dass die Staatsanwaltschaft voellig unabhaengig von der Exekutive sein muss.

Staatsanwaltschaften koennen allerdings - wenn auch begrenzt und indirekt - vom Justizminister angewiesen werden, und sind somit nicht genuegend unabhaengig hierfuer.

Also:

  • Ob D ein Rechstaat ist, wird vom EuGH nicht angezweifelt.
  • Die Unabhaengigkeit von Gerichten (der Justiz) in D wird nicht angezweifelt.

Abgesehen von Mimimi ist die Aussage von Trixi also ausserdem falsch.
