As always, domestic abuse is the flagship infosec threat model, the one where the victim has the least resources, the least recourse, where they're closest to immediate physical harm.

That this industry has failed at and mostly abandoned the idea of even pretending to try dealing with a threat model that's difficult and unprofitable and mostly hurts women is not news, but this new Windows Recall feature is next-level professional negligence.

I am amused. One the one hand, Microsoft is introducing Recall, which literally takes screenshots of everything you do on windows, but on the other hand, they are taking users ability to take screenshots of their browser away if their company configures it as such.

Ein wenig thematisierter Fakt zum Asylrecht: du kannst einen Asylantrag erst stellen wenn du dich im Land befindest in dem du Asyl suchen willst. Es kann kein Asylantrag aus der Ferne gestellt werden.

Um in das Land legal zu kommen benötigst du ein Visum irgendeiner Form — doch so gut wie alle Visa-Applikationen für die BRD (Tourist:Innen Visa, Universitäts-/Arbeits-Visum) verpflichten dich zu sagen das du kein Visum beantragst um Asyl zu suchen. Wenn du sagst das du nach Deutschland kommen willst um dort Asyl zu suchen wird dein Visum zu 100% abgelehnt, auch wenn dein Asylantrag angenommen werden würde (du also einen legitimen Grund hast zu fliehen).

Das „Grundrecht” auf Asyl wird so komplett umgangen.

Du hast also keine andere Wahl als bei deiner Visa-Applikation zu lügen. „Illegale Migration” ist ein Mythos um Menschen sowie deren Einwanderung zu deligitimieren.

abstract:
In this paper we provide an example of the application of quantitative techniques, tools, and topics from mathematics and data science to analyze the mathematics community itself in order to quantify inequity and document elitism. This work is a contribution to the new and growing field recently termed "mathematics of Mathematics," or "MetaMath." Our goal is to rebut, rebuke, and refute the idea that the mathematical sciences in the United States is a meritocracy by using data science and quantitative analysis. Using research and data about PhD-granting institutions in the United States, we quantify, document, and highlight inequities in departments at U.S. institutions of higher education that produce PhDs in the mathematical sciences. Specifically, we determine that a small fraction of mathematical sciences departments receive a large majority of federal funding awarded to support mathematics in the United States and that women are dramatically underrepresented in these departments. Additionally, we quantify the extent to which women are underrepresented in almost all mathematical sciences PhD-granting institutions in the United States.
