Well, isn't that delightful. One of the most antidemocratic, sinister tech bros around, with a huge stake in hyping his garbage tech, invited to advice on public policy that affects his garbage tech.

I mean, the dude has a plan to share a bunker with Peter Thiel when the shit that he's stirring hits the fan. Is that really someone you want advicing on public policy?

Jimmy Carter says a full investigation would show Trump lost in 2016

“I think a full investigation would show that Trump didn’t actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election, and he was put into office because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” the former president, who served between 1977 and 1981, said at a panel hosted by the Carter Center in Leesburg, Va.

2016 was the first time that Russia installed a puppet regime in the US. Let's hope it was also the last.

My favorite mug in the whole world broke today (my fault, a moment of inattention). Dale tried to patch it, so maybe it can be … glued?… But it’s toast 😢😭

I’ll start the process of trying to find a replacement. But it’s going to be so hard, because it was perfect: it held 20+ ounces, the handle was big and sturdy, the walls weren’t unnecessarily heavy (hard for a mug that big), it was dishwasher safe, it was purple, AND it had a bird on it.

Keep your eyes peeled for perfect mugs for me please?

It is evident from today's Supreme Court argument that several Justices have entirely abandoned any interest in the rule of law even in the face of the Trump-led insurrection.

The Court had an opportunity to restore its credibility by demonstrating, as it did fifty years ago in US v Nixon, that it stood unanimously behind the rule of law regardless of party loyalty. Instead, it seems poised to demonstrate the opposite: that it is dominated by political hacks.

Biking 1.5 miles to school today, my kid & I...

  1. waited while a school bus ran a stop sign
  2. swerved to avoid a car passing us on the left as we turned left
  3. sat at a light for 4 min to get a walk signal
  4. slammed on the brakes to not get t-boned by an SUV in a crosswalk

We don't pollute, make noise, cause pavement wear, or threaten anyone's safety. Yet our roads still force us to defer to cars or risk death.

And we're the entitled ones? Entitled to what??

There was no drone delivery future. There was never going to be a drone delivery future.

Just like there was never going to be self-driving Uber taxis. Or Amazon Go supermarkets on every corner. Or hyperloops. Or earth-to-earth space travel on SpaceX rockets. Or level-five full self driving Teslas.

Just like there will not be a general artificial intelligence ChatGPT in the next couple of years.

They were all scams designed to lure dollars from investors and generate good PR.

It was all bullshit. It was always bullshit.

Nothing more.
