Did someone else also notice that is much worse than before in finding good results, esp. in queries related to software development? I find that most of the time I have to add !g bang to fallback to search.

Hey there @FOSSCell 👋

Just found your https://fossmeet.net .. nice site 👍

One nit: you reference to your mastodon channel via mastodon social. Why not directly via floss social?

I thought the battery of my ancient phone had finally given out. Battery went from fully charged to empty in a heartbeat.

However app was somehow stuck trying to fetch notifications, so I killed it, thinking this was a battery drain. It likely was.

Along the way I found a real useful feature: Data Saver 😃

After I turned this on my battery lasts for days now, and I don't get superfluous notifications anymore either.

involves the devious practice of passing people 💩 turd sandwiches wrapped in glossy paper, and have the recipient be happy and surprised when opening them.

Because only outward packaging is all that matters, the superficial layer. Hypercapitalism aggressively teaches to look no further. To not see deeper value and meaning. For its practioners, which we all are to an extent, superficiality is thus the "Return on Lack of Investment" we get in return.

We may value more.

Hi @matt 👋

Yesterday in chat I named the project, a real adorable 😍 effort that's still lacking on the side, i.e. could do with some on board.

Today I found out that Makepad is apparently part of a appdev effort, called . Another project here is .. also in for @accesskit support.. maybe. 🤔

Robius looks like a very loose conglomeration of independent projects. Maybe AccessKit is even a fit to it?

OMG the thugs at decided they better steal Scarlett Johannson's voice after she declined a contract to get voiced by her.

Two days before launch of she was approached again by Sam Altman, Head of Crooks. And refused again.

To then find her overly uplifting, encouraging, positive sounding voice creating the uncanny valley in these demo's.

When approaching OpenAI by her legal councilors the voice was suddenly pulled.

Seeing your toot on roleplaying and mechanics reminded me of a vid by Yan Cui I watched in 2015 and which got me really excited for graph db's, @hrefna

https://www.infoq.com/presentations/game-economy-graph-db/

Years later similar excitement was triggered by @cwebber Fantasary and imagining being able to build that stuff on open standards decentralized social networks.

Why do I have to figure out how to simply do a right-click with my touchpad, now that my mouse battery ran dry, ?

Touchpad settings are really obscure in what switch I should toggle. Or is right-clicking old-fashioned now and not supposed to be done on a touchpad?

Advocating for #Wasmcloud to adopt a OSS-first approach and use #LinuxFoundation #OpenBAO as their example of a secret store integration in upcoming RFC implementation..

https://github.com/wasmCloud/wasmCloud/issues/2190#issuecomment-2141124236

@linuxfoundation projects are already seen as overly corporate, and sticking as much as possible to at least #OSS and preferably even #FOSS in docs + elaborated examples would help to not further reinforce that notion.

Freaking again.

I posted @waag article calling for to not transfer the infra for the .nl to AWS.

Then I got this 'helpful' hint to "increase my engagement" 🤢 ..

Yeah right, engagement by scammers. I miss the "Are you mad?" button in this design.

"Can improve the user experience of decentralized ecosystem?"

https://www.liquid.surf/2024/2/7/Can-FedCM-improve-Solid-login-flow

This article by folks working on a based app called Liquid Surf mentions the specs of the Federated Identity Community Group.

And in particular how this CG - having Big Tech members - could improve their specs so that small identity providers are also taken into account properly.

Idk relevance to and , but the work looks interesting:

It's quite popular to use https://shields.io to add #Badges to your README in #git code repositories, and in many other places.

This makes #Shields potentially a #tracker. I just noticed that the shields website does not have a #privacy policy. Given the service it provides it is required to have one for #GDPR-compliance. They do use 3rd-party services that need mentioning. The issue to add a PP is still open since 2019:

What alternative #Badge service do you use?
