I think as web developers we have been collectively brainwashed into thinking that you must use React and Tailwind to create websites, when all you really need are vanilla web standards and a text editor. We should be making it easier to make websites than it is right now. You should not need a PhD in web design to create something that you can share and express yourself. We need more tools that make web development easy, not more tools that turn it into some 10 step build process

I think the thing that time travel stories really fail to capture is that if I went back through time now, with none of the usual GPS mappery I currently rely on, I would be immediately and irrevocably lost. I got rid of my car a couple of years ago and am attempting to traverse the land on public transport and foot and frankly if my phone dies I may never make it home.

@noio so great! Almost feels like you're looking at a car mmo.

If I had any comments it would be to have a few extra drops of water come off of the car when it leaves the water. It seems to get fully dry super fast.

@ParadeGrotesque 6 hours! That feels like it was designed for folks who are able to sit for that long and not for actual alignment. Seems like you could invite folks in when it's "their turn" but why make anyone have to endure that - imagine if you were the "last" one to present - how grueling!

It used to be I would get up in the mornings and doomscroll twitter and feel bad about things.

Now, I check in on Mastodon, and my feed is filled with thoughtful, passionate, funny, and relatable people with backgrounds as diverse and colorful as the world actually is.

I was very bummed about the twitter demise, but here it feels like I'm closer to the real thing.
