Truly impressive detail, that I had not previously seen with FFF printers. Even more impressive that, what was basically a big block of support material after printing, could peel of witho9ut much trouble to reveal the figures beneath it 😃

Idea:
#tax land and only land

Never heard about #georgism before, though I've heard similar ideas I liked.

• pay tax on empty flats
• sell land only for limited time (hongkong)
• make state income by having people rent fixed non-consumable limited resources from the state
• continuously pay when public resources (e.g. land) are allocated to you (not sure where i picked this up, guess it's pretty much the same as georgism)

Google Search is blocking #hetzner #ipv6 addresses. 🤔 No other search engine does this.

Noticed this while evaluating if tunneling IPv6 from hetzner is faster than via #HE #tunnelbroker.

HE is soo slow, that after 16 years of using IPv6, I'm seriously considering just disabling it :-(

OK, my state has something called "Arbeitsmarktservice". They basically help people find a new job, give them training and so on. They are usually very useless.

Today, they released an online tool to help answer job related questions. It's based on GPT-4. And it's ... amazing :D

#37C3 Tip / Experience of years past:

Remember to drink at least 2 liters of water per day!

There were a few CCCongresses where I caught the CCBug/CCCbola/got sick.

Everytime! it was the day after my throat got too dry because I forgot to drink water, which in turn was because I was running from event to shift to event and did not even notice my dry throat until it was too late.

Firmen welche bei A1 Verträge haben, bekommen ein Hardwarebudet/Bonuspunkte(?), die der Firmen-Admin/Prokura/CEO der die Firma zu A1 gebracht hat, für sich nutzen kann.

Einem Freund in dieser Position ist vom A1 Key Account Manager am Telefon gesagt worden, seine Firma hätte da gerade 2k€ zusammen, ob er Hardware wolle oder das Geld, denn viele würden sich das auf ihr Privatkonto auszahlen lassen, das wäre üblich.

Wie bekommt man A1 zum handeln?

2021: keine Chance Glasfaser zu bekommen
2022: Lobbying bei allen Anbietern. Unterschriftenliste von 200 Haushalten.
2023 Q3: Gemeinderatsbeschluß dass Glasfaser bis 2027 ausgebaut werden soll, und zwar explizit ohne die #A1 welches es Jahrelang verzögert hat.
2023 Q4: A1 startet Telefonumfrage im Bezirk bei Leuten "ob denn Bedarf bestünde", denn sie würden dann bis 2025Q2 Glasfaser verlegen.

• improve product
• improve business model to point it should have been at the beginning if only you had known about peoples actual use-cases then.

oh, you want to configure a guest in a vm that explicitly should not have ssh? Well we have "become" for that, but that's all completely broken and all workarounds are broken too, so after 3 days of trying workarounds for broken by design and broken by half-hearted implementations stuff in ansible, you find out the only workaround is to run several playbooks interleaved into each other, turning on ssh temporarily 💩

Summary: cars depreciate from new towards zero. Only some folks buy brand new and run 'em into the ground. Many more lease then sell on or buy 2nd hand and re-sell later, extracting value. If you put a floor under the price of 2nd hand cars (b/c batteries in such cars have to have useful residual capacity) then you just raised the cost of driving for a large proportion of poorer drivers—unsustainably.

1. if everybody keeps to the rules, that frees a lot of mind-space for other things.
2. if the rules are fair, more people keep to the rules while happy

This additional capacity of mind can then be used to do science and engineering and great things for all. Or it can be used to find ways to abuse the rules. Currently people who do the later run higher risks but also get higher rewards AND are still celebrated for it. At very least, that we should stop!
