Greatsword/Motivity builds forever. Unlike #FromSoft games where i insist on running a Str+ Dex = Quality build with a Curved Greatsword, here I'm running pure Str(Motivity) and bringing the pain and stagger
@tuckerm I'm playing through it on Xbox PC Gamepass
It pulls a lot of the #FromSoft tricks (enemy attack patterns, marking progress through shortcuts, drop all currency on death, currency is used to buy level ups) i will say that i haven't died as often as I'd expected to so the difficulty level is not very high (for me)
It feels like Bloodborne instead of Dark Souls/Elden Ring, so expect to focus on some kind of melee build with optional reliance on magic or ranged options
@NaClKnight Nice. Having a more moderate difficulty sounds good to me, since I've never actually played a FromSoft game. And that sounds like the kind of build I would choose anyway. 👍
Genialt.
This sums up really well why it's so difficult to go back to playing other AA/AAA games after #fromsoftware games. I'm feeling this a lot in #AlanWake2 right now as well
This is where "indie" games ultimately end up providing a more enjoyable experience than AAA games - they have to remain hyper focused on the quality of the core gameplay loop and use it as the primary mechanism for storytelling
@danielholt I agree. also, I much prefer the blocking and rolling to the gun riposting in bloodborne. as someone who prefers light builds, i always feel clunky in dark souls games, no matter how i respec...i actually feel like a lightfooted character in lies of p, and getting a perfect guard off is so satisfying. and it's absolutely gorgeous!
I've played all the souls games, but I can't say I really ENJOYED them, I just kinda got through them because I felt like I had to, to stay abreast of gaming cred or whatever. lies of p meanwhile is delightful...I keep extending my livestreams by an hour or more because I promised I wouldn't play any offstream and I don't want to stop playing 😅
So, first boss is finally down! Yeah! Let's see where this ride takes me!
I'm loving how the different skill trees and mechanics of the game go unfolding slowly, not overwhelming you with too much info at once (I mean, this game's difficulty is brutal, at least they're going slow on the infodump!)
I'm struggling so much making any significant progress in #Sekiro. Regular enemies are more or less ok, but the moment you make me fight one of those bastards that require two deathblows, I'm done for.
Right now I'm fighting Enshin of Misen, and I'm getting absolutely ripped to pieces in mere seconds.
I don't know if I should persevere, continue with the game on a different path (maybe get away from Hirata Estate for now?) or what, because this feels absolutely impossible.
