I guess this is what we get when the DOJ doesn’t investigate or prosecute MOCs who participated in the Jan6 insurrection to overturn a valid election.
This afternoon I reworked my Umori Slime #mtgcommander#mtgedh deck. The goal is to create as many oozes as possible and then run players over.
The day before they revealed Slime Against Humanity I had said to myself “if they print another card where you can play as many as you want in a commander deck, I am going to buy at least 30 of them.”
The hope is to get Thrumming Stone into play and then start rippling my way into a whole bunch of Slimes.
Is being a paid artist becoming less and less possible? (lol, discuss)
Latest example - yesterday's Magic the Gathering kerfuffle where an artist blatantly copypasted parts from a bunch of other paintings into her Magic card.
And people are baffled - can she even paint at all? (Looking at her gallery - I think so, her other art certainly looks inspired and referenced, but not photobashed.)
Why would she do something this stupid?
I don't think we'll get to know, but I doubt it's just laziness. I don't have exact numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Magic card rates have not gone up since I last tried to get work from Wizards. And I remember the same rates being cited a decade+ ago.
Considering Wizards are one of the Big clients in the tabletop RPG/CCG space that you want to work with "for the money"...
