@evacide More and more grateful that Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau severed the legislative ties to the UK in the '80s and gave us the Charter of Rights and Freedoms that makes this government invasion of privacy illegal.
@evacide This is rather sloppy reporting, as this article is only about England and Wales, (not Scotland, ergo, not the "UK"). Additionally, there is no "British police" - policing is devolved. I have not heard anything about Police Scotland doing this.
